fell in love with this watch at a jewlry store here... now i'm a cheapass and i'm weighing my options on where to buy it for the best price. the store offered it to me for $13,500 canadian, taxes in. it lists for $12,200 US on that website (about $15,000 canadian). anyone know where to get a better deal for THAT EXACT watch? - must be new.

FlyingIguana 07-25-2004 09:55 AM

i haven't used a watch since i got a cell phone :thumbsup

Manowar 07-25-2004 09:57 AM

Never heard of them, but that watch looks pretty swish.

Maybe someone here could point you in the right direction

LadyMischief 07-25-2004 09:59 AM

check www.froogle.com

bluff 07-25-2004 09:59 AM

if you buy a watch for more than $100, you're not worth one single cent

zero class, and class isn't bought

KRL 07-25-2004 10:01 AM

He has 8 Blancpains in stock right now, but not that model.

I'll check one more dealer I know. brb

hova 07-25-2004 10:03 AM

VERY interested in the info you have......

Sosa 07-25-2004 10:04 AM

Never heard of that brand before. What is special about that one? Pretty rare model I suppose?

i like it cause it ISN'T a rolex. 99.9% of the population won't know what you have, and think it's a $50 watch.

MattO 07-25-2004 10:09 AM

whitebread?

it is purdy

Jace 07-25-2004 10:11 AM

wow, that much for a watch? crazy shit I tell you

KRL 07-25-2004 10:12 AM

I haven't dealt with this dealer but he carries Blancpain and is authorized by the mfr. I didn't see that model listed in his inventory, but he has some others equally nice.

Les Bijoux
561-361-2311
http://www.lesbijoux.net

I've bought from Toruneau before. They are very pricey though and you have to really work them hard to get a price budge.

Tourneau down in Bal Harbor / Palm Beach
305-866-4312

http://www.torneau.com

They aren't showing it in their online inventory, but I'm sure could get it for you.

Okay that's cool, I don't like rolexes either. But why 13,000? go with an unknown brand from cambodja for my part, you'll still be exclusive

p1mpdogg 07-25-2004 10:15 AM

no offense but the watch is ugly as shit

buy a tag

in your experience - what kind of a price drop is reasonable for a high end watch from list price? that store listed the watch at $16,500 plus taxes (about $19,000 canadian) and offered it to me for $13,500 taxes in and i didn't haggle that hard for that, i'm thinking i can get them down to $11 or $12K with a little work - is that right or can i expect them to move more than that on the price with some heavier haggeling?

bluff 07-25-2004 10:16 AM

you want to be recognised by the 'connaisseur'?

that's like a low end rolex - people look at it and go - why didn't you buy a rolex? cheapass

people look at a blancpain and don't know what the fuck you have and don't know what to think. I like that.

nope. i just like to know MYSELF, don't give a fuck what the connaisseur thinks. it is nice to know that you have a few bucks on your wrist in case of emergency if you're ever in trouble somewhere and have to pawn it as most pawn shops would know or be able to find out the real value.

Buy an almost identical watch at Wal-Mart and donate the balance to the food bank (unless the watch has a built-in time machine). You'll feel just as good about yourself... maybe better. :)

posting it to get a good price is a good reason, but you know just as well as I do that people here don't have a clue. And I think that's exactly why you post?
