If i was looking to spend some good $ on a watch, i would get a Bvlgari, not a rolex. Blancpain is a very good brand as well. Most of the very good brands are not well known due to the small numbers of watches they produce and of course their price.

Good thing it only costs $13,000 to get away with that illusion :1orglaugh

We bought my dad a Blancpain watch for his birthday last year. Its a awesome watch, and well worth the money.

It won't tell time any better. The only reason to spend that kind of money on a watch is to show off. But if nobody knows, it defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

It's rather plain, IMHO.

Nobody knows? All the people that read this thread know. Don't let Sleazy ever convince you that he doesn't care what people think. :winkwink:

Personally, i like the watch. But i wouldn't (and can't) pay 12 grand for it.

I got this one for my b-day:

SWATCH Irony

Best thing about it is it is EXTRA LIGHT!
If you like the heavy silver/gold watches you'll probably not like it :)

fell in love with this watch at a jewlry store here... now i'm a cheapass and i'm weighing my options on where to buy it for the best price. the store offered it to me for $13,500 canadian, taxes in. it lists for $12,200 US on that website (about $15,000 canadian). anyone know where to get a better deal for THAT EXACT watch? - must be new.

That watch costs $12k? Lol.

My watch cost $60 and has a built in calculator. Yes, I rule :glugglug

nope. i just like to know MYSELF, don't give a fuck what the connaisseur thinks. it is nice to know that you have a few bucks on your wrist in case of emergency if you're ever in trouble somewhere and have to pawn it as most pawn shops would know or be able to find out the real value.
no pawn shop is going to buy that watch off you unless you're in LA, Vegas or NY and even at that they wouldn't give you more than $2k for it.

Like I said a pawn shop in NY, LA or Vegas might be the only place where you would get up to 2k and that's because in those cities there are a few shops that specialize in luxury goods. Go to any other pawn shop in any city and they would be lucky to offer you $500.
