Help me prove Matrix's database was used!
I would like everyone who believes that Matrix Content, Inc gave out his or her information to help me prove it. Being who I am you might be wondering why would I want to do this? I?m not talking about people who are not 100% sure. If the information was from my database, then it was done without Matrix Content, Inc. or any of it principals giving any form of consent for use and we have never in the past. We are checking every possible explanation. This has truly personally hurt me and all the employees that work at Matrix. We have always prided ourselves as being upstanding and honest. Now my person integrity is being questioned and I?m very upset to put it lightly. So what can we do? If this information, and I mean if, came from us, help use prove it! I have spent the day discussing this in great detail with my attorney and other companies and this is what we have come up with:
If you believe your information came from us call me on Monday and I will personally deal with everyone I can. If I?m swamped we will take you number and I call everyone back. We need to prove, without a doubt, it was my database it came from. Since we did not give permission of its use, this is a serious problem. So if your not just into destroying a companies reputation and want to get to the bottom of this make the call. |
Thank you for coming to the boards like this, it is appreciated to try and help seperate the accusations from fact. I'm interested to see how this plays out.

i missed this... what happened?
|
This should get interesting
|
Sounds reasonable. I personally believe it came from your database, can not proove it 100%. Have not posted to damage your companies reputation (this post excluded) because I did not have 100% proof.
If we do as you suggest will you disclose everything when you find out what happened? Or will this be a we will look into it, then blame something nobody can ever proove, such as a hack. |
very professional of you to do that. if acacia stole your database and you can prove they did, sue them for whatever you can.
|
Lets do what we can if this is infact the case. You, Danny and the rest of your employees have been nothing but incredibly helpful to me and my company. It was very disheartening to receive that letter to the address knowing that Matrix is the ONLY one to have THAT particular address (out of 3 I use). If it's not MC, then someones definately got your list, and recently too. I only started using this address in the last 2 months.

Hello There :)
|
I've been buying from Matrix for years.I've also promoted their paysites.
I have NOT received anything from Acacia. They have had all my info since day one. I do not believe that Matrix has anything to do with it. |
I admire you coming and trying to take care of this.

well i personally know for a fact 100% that my personal info was leaked from your database. i never use the same email address and home address for the programs and content sites i sign up to. i kept hearing stories about content providers and webmaster programs selling their email list when i first started to doing adult web design. And i will glady give you a call Monday. i have no reason to try and turnish your company's name. Im just a webdesigner who have always came to you directly when my clients wanted better pictures to use for their site designs. Either you gave my information out directly or you got someone working for you who just probably made a pretty penny selling my info....
|
Did Acacia have access to any databases, since supposedly they are supposed to have access to records concerning income, why not clients

There is a silver lining to all this though. After I prove my integrity and honesty to everyone in the industry through this action I?ll never have to do it again! LOL I hope everyone can have a good a weekend as possible! |
SPOT 4 SALE
this is going to be a big thread |
The contact information Matrix Has on me is different than the Contact info Acacia used to send me their letter. :2 cents:
BUT, it is possible that Acacia crossed referenced my info from another RAT's info and removed the duplicate. The RAT's will be exposed and blacklisted! This is a SMALL community. :321GFY |
One more quick request, please. Help me keep this thread near the top of the page over the weekend so everyone involved will contact me.
|
Good move, Norman :) I hope you get down to the bottom of this..
Was nice meeting you and talking in Montreal, btw. :thumbsup |

I know for a fact that it was matrix because I did not signup nichemvs anywhere else, fuck them and me ever buying a thing from the cocksuckers again, fuck off matrix!!! |

I have been buying content from MatrixContent for the last three years, at least once a month. I have licensed one video set in that time. I have not heard anything from ACACIA so far.
FWIW, I also have been to the last two Vegas Internext shows & I subscribe to AVN. I am a CECash, Vivid, & Flyntdigital webmaster. I am not active with Vivid, but I am with the other programs. I don't know if that proves anything, but I've heard rumors that those situations could also be suspicious. |
I have no way to prove or disprove my info came from or didn't come from Matrix... or anyone else for that matter. That's why I've not accused anyone, and am suspicious of everyone.
but kudos to you for the effort to track it down. Matrix has always been good to me in the past. Always. |

can't wait to see how this turns out
|
Here is an idea...
someone (inside or outside the company) stole the a part of the list (not the full one because obviously not everyone who signed up to mc got the letter from acacia) and sold it to acacia as a list of webmasters... (not necceseraly providing the right info where they got the list or lying about it) just a though |

For all the kind posts, thank you! It means more to me that you will ever know. |

Now it's very probable that content companies share their lists with others. I say this because I don't want you to feel that I'm saying ONLY YOU might have done this. I ask of you and Ken, how many companies or, more importantly, "big guys" in the industry have you shared your list with? By "big guys" I mean individuals that were/are big in the industry. Have you ever shared your list with someone big in the industry that is now out of the game, or lying low? When was the last time you shared your list, if at all? Obviously the problem might not rest with you or other companies that settled, but who you've all shared your lists with. The answers to these questions might not be any of our business, but I'm just trying to help find a solution and pin down where this problem is coming from. I commend you for coming forward and fighting against these accusations. What you're doing says a lot about your character. :thumbsup |
damage control? I know that nobody could get their hands on our customer databases, without anyone knowing......

Norm its from your database without a doubt. I've talked to several people with unique addresses and the only common link is your company. |

I am 100% sure that in that in regards to their client email addresses registered with matrix content: A) They were either rented / sold. B) They were used internally for or most likely, C) The matrix servers or company and client data was compromised in some way. I had talked with Normon about this many moons ago, well before Acacia arrived on the scene. I started getting a ton of spam to my [email protected] email addresses, so I confronted Norman & matrix about it. I have been reluctant to mention anything about it because Normon sort of dropped the ball with his investigation, so I'm not sure what to think. But to Normans defense on the ball dropping, I know how it is to get super busy and have to rearrange priorities. He just never got back to me and said "Yes, it sucks, but it turns out we got hacked and our information was compromised." as he had said he would. Anyway If I was forced to guess what has happend - that would be it. They were probably hacked awhile ago & someone stole their client list. So somehow, apparently Acacia might have wound up with it (if it turns out be without a doubt the matrix client list being used) |
Another intersting thing to note is that we do not get these spams to ALL of our matrix email addresses, only the ones that were registered earlier on.
This could very well mean that someone stole their client list/database in between the dates we registered those accounts. Btw.. we only bought photo sets :winkwink: |

You have MANY more believers than non-believers. If something did happen I know you will personally get to the bottom of it and take EVERY action possible to help the situation. As a personal friend and business associate, you have always been honest with me and my company. I trust you with my information.. |
I believe Norman he has done me right even when I was playing Agent for some models he shot. I think he should have the bennifit of the doubt, Norman has done lots of people right. If it wasnt for him I would not be opening a content site and selling my work. Give the guy a chance and wait it out cuz in the end you might have to apologize to the guy.
|
I can't wait to see the end of this.....
wouldn't it be nice if they did steal or buy the database from a disgruntled employee? wow, i think that would get them a little negative publicity we all could use... sorry for the babble, just trying to keep this thread up top, so people can see it. jon |

In regards to your post, I believe Acacia got my information from matrix content or a matrix content database. BUT, my account is fairly new. It's not from "before acacia" and I've only had it registered for a couple of months. So if it was stolen, it wasn't an old list that was stolen. |

Just stating the facts I have. Could be whoever hacked them kept some backdoors to get back in? Dunno. But I don't get spam sent to the accounts we registered later. I would think with the cooperation of some program owners, we could find out who the culprit is as well. Or, who is benefitting from the email spams that have been sent to the matrix customer list in the past anyway. |
The most recent spam we've received to matrix emails were promoting the following:
PieCash V2 pcashv2.com - Webmaster ID 100191 --------------------------------------------- "Lose weight while you sleep" Links to youngerfasternow.biz w/o affiliate programs. --------------------------------------------- "GRow young" links to hormonesh-g-h.biz w/o affiliate programs. --------------------------------------------- "YOU HAVE A WON A F-R-E-E P-O-R-N SITE MEMBERSHIP!" links to naughty-anal-whores.com/plotto/bnce/plotto.html Who is piecash? |
I'm sorry to say that I'm almost 100% sure that Matrix Content's database was used. Here is my scenario which makes me almost sure it was Matrix Content:
A few years (lets say about 2 years) I used my old home address as the address for my billing on my business transactions. When I moved out of my condominium I had so much trouble transferring all my business mail to my new address I decided to rent a P.O. Box and not use my new home address in case I have to move again. If I can go back and check the exact dates as to when I moved into my new home address and exactly when I got my P.O. Box I'm almost certain only a few companies (maybe one to four) had my new address listed. About the same time I rented a P.O. Box and changed almost every single webmaster affiliate program or content provider I do business with to my new P.O. Box number and not my new home address (except for Matrix Content and maybe some others). I ran across this thread just today looking for info on the Acacia lawsuit because I just received a letter from Acacia yesterday about infringing on their patents. VERY IMPORTANT: The thing that suprised me was that this is the first mail I have received to my new home address related to my business. I will go through the other companies I do business with to make sure my new home address is not used this weekend. For all of you that have done business with Matrix and are saying it is not them and have not yet received your letter give it a couple days. I believe Acacia just sent out some letters and you may be receiving them in a few days because I just received mine yesterday. I am not 100% sure yet, so I am not placing the blame on Matrix as of yet. But believe me I will do some research over the next week to find out if I gave my new address to any other company (other than Matrix). But again, sorry to say it seems like it does lead to Matrix. Best wishes, Dick Shoke |

Grumble, Grumble
|
Very straight up Norman, we'll be talking next week for damn sure. I hope you keep to your guns and let everyone know the truth about your findings in the next few days as you stated above.... good or bad.
|
Hope you get to the bottom of this. If it's not from a source at Matrix, there are going to be alot of people still left wondering.
|
good looking out
|
I really hope this turns out for the best but I know my information came from your database and I will call first thing Monday morning.
