AVS sites being shut down by Visa
 

Just wanted to know what most of you have heard on this matter. I know of several major AVS sites that will be cut off by most of the major billing companies per VISA at midnight tonight.

Can you post the names of these 'major AVS sites'? Are they doing materials that Visa frowns upon, such as looking younger than 18, golden showers, fisting, scat or bestiality?

It's not a secret that Visa is taking a close look at the AVS model, since a case could be made that they are unregulated aggregators... and as such can circumvent both the letter and the spirit of the Visa policies of last year.

But I'm still waiting to hear who's in the hot seat.

I call BS, yes, I can see some that used the babenet backend shutting down, or similar, but not a big doom and gloom ending, sorry. I know too many AVSers and too many ppl at the AVSes that I would have heard a rumor from a reliable source.

Thanks KimmyKim!! I always look forward to your responce. I can promise you this is a reality. I am not saying that some of them will find temporary solutions overseas. Lets just say I seen the list and am willing to wager upto $10k on this news. I am sure several of them have found solutions outside of the US.

I'm not so sure it's Visa doing the canning... more like someone jumping the gun if this is what is happening today. I'm not aware that Visa's gone any further right now than to start requesting information on specific AVS...

Lets just say that one of my best friends works for one of the billing companies and this is no lie. Visa hates the AVS model and is shutting them down even if they have their own merchant accounts.

I just started an AVS project (Premium, Regular, Hub sites) so I just recently did a head count looking for who to use...and I would estimate about 30 significant AVS's out there.
