The United States has stores of 2,000 Tomahawks and 200 to 250 ALCMs. Missile replacement rates are far too slow, especially since defense contractors like Boeing and Raytheon have been gearing up for the initial production of next-generation cruise missiles. If they keep firing missiles at the current rate they will be left empty in less then 2 weeks. The shock and awe is a load of crap. Especially since the Iraq military in underground in Russian built bunkers that are silent and cannot be penetrated by any known bomb. The Iraqis only have to sit tight for the next say two weeks and this war will turn. Temperatures are climbing, the british troops are virtually openly rebelling against blair, and the american body bags are already climbing. and so far the americans have won jack shit and not even scratched the Iraqi military!

I don't understand so many people are making fun of this war, this is not an entertainment show.
War is the most terrible thing which can happen to humans I do agree that this war is needed though, but still I feel sorry for all those people who are gonna die in the next weeks... |

He said you better eaarn your pay Drop your bombs between the minarets Down the Casbah way... fyi n. A tall slender tower attached to a mosque, having one or more projecting balconies from which a muezzin summons the people to prayer. |
Looks like half the city is burning on the Baghdad Live Feed on MsNBC. (No TV access here at the office.)

It's history in the making and unlike most previous wars the public is able to see it as it happens. It's scary.. I'm rattled much like I was on 9/11. I found myself sitting here with my hand over my mouth. I was raised an Army brat. My dad was career military and served two tours in Vietnam. My brother was in the Navy. My first husband was Army and in the 864th Engineers out of Ft Lewis whose Battalion is over there now, likely to aid with quick construction of landing strips and bridges. Where I live there is a large population of Army, Air Force and Navy personnel and their families. All of this hits very close to home for me. That said.. it's very necessary at this time. It should have happened years ago. |

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/gbu-28.htm Unless the Russians have been building new bunkers (which I'm pretty sure would be a violation of the sanctions), I see no reason to think that Iraq has anything that can't be hit. Where are the British troops openly rebelling? How many US soldiers have been killed? Last I heard the only casualities so far were from accidents (which are bound to happen). I remember the last gulf war, all the talk about how badass the Iraqi army was, how it was going to be another vietnam and that whole "mother of all battles" joke. This time the Iraqi army is weaker. What do you think the outcome is going to be? |

may those who die do so swiftly
I'm at a loss for words |
The next time a fucking dirty filthy Arab fucker decides to strike a blow against OUR way of life, they will think twice!
They were not targetting civilians, the point of this all is not for our entertainment, not a cowboy President out of control - this is to set some bastards straight and rid the world of Saddam Hussein. Tough to watch, it shouldn't have come to this but it had to be done. |

I reckon the US has just done something really monumental.
I think they may have damaged there reputation throughout the world. They just used a sledgehammer to kill an ant :( sorry ,but I think it was unnecessary and I think on the stage of world politics,it may just have been a major error. |
According to Jane's Missiles & Rockets the current stockile of Tomahawks is 2,000. If you have a more authoritive source then post it!
Building bunkers is not in violation of U.N. sanctions, and they are upgraded versions of the bunkers that Russia built in Serbia and Kosovo which the Americans could not even scratch. The British Generals have already stated this openly. |

Afraid you won't be getting your American checks next week? Trust me my friend, your checks are in the mail. |
My only comment on this shit...
Terrorism sickens me. Watching a country get bombed into submission live on TV does the same. :( |
