I Just Got Hired At Mcdonalds

My traffic is coming back on my blog but sales are almost non existent. Right now I need some income so this is going to stop the hemorrhaging. To be honest I think it will take 6 months or more to build up a livable income online even if that happens at all.

Hey a job is a job and I'm better at dealing with the public than most of the people that work at these places. I've also noticed that most of the workers are over 30 compared to 20 years ago. Everyone that has a job these days seems to have the biggest frown on their face like their world is ending. I have UC/IBD and I often walk 3 miles to my job but I'm almost always in a good mood.

I also gave plasma last week, everyone complains about it but it isn't that bad. The worst thing is that it sometimes takes awhile but going early on Wednesdays seems to take care of the wait time.

What are they paying you for that? I did it in Madison, WI in like 2007 or so I think you could go twice a week for 25 dollars a session. So 200 a month if you did it as often as possible :1orglaugh Not bad really if you need the dough!

Absolutely:thumbsup

People can sit around and whine, be miserable and broke, and blame everything/everyone else for their situation. Or they can do something about it.

Best wishes Mike to get back on your feet soon.

BlackCrayon 04-01-2014 04:29 PM

did you try to get hired elsewhere first? i would think anyone with decent computer skills could get a job at least paying a bit more than minimum wage.

$50 each for 1st 5 visits in 40 days. Then $20 for 1st day of the week visit and $40 for second so $30 each. you can go twice a week. If You go To CSL I think I can get you an extra $5 with my member code.

Where they get you is when you bruise, if you come in with a bruise on both arms from previous visits they send you home for 2-3 days. If you try to go in with one clean arm and one bruised and they fuck up on the first needle poke they ban you for 60 days.

It's not like giving blood though, when you get out you don't feel hungry or dizzy or anything, I think this is because I'm 210lbs. I think smaller people have more side effects.

nah everyone who works at mcdonalds is 16 with their first job or 60 year old bored housewife

but good luck with the new gig, people threaten all the time to quit adult and flip burgers but you've followed through and were ok with sharing

Creatine 04-01-2014 04:33 PM

Nice job. Seriously that's awesome. I currently don't have a job... it really sucks. Thinking about joining the military.

HTML, blogging and basic SEO are my only real skills. I just took what came first. I talked to a friend the other day that seemed willing to help but he has a programming degree that has never been able to find a job with.

Also this is a factory town that has been hit hard with jobs being automated and moving overseas so our recovery is going to take longer.

I do see my traffic taking a sharp turn up so who knows.

I don't mind working any job I can physically handle as long as there is not too much stress. I know this manager and worked for her at the McD in the mall when I was just out of high school. She runs a really tight ship and doesn't take any BS but she is not one of those aggressive management types that's hard to work for either.

Honestly I think if my business comes back I will keep this job for 1-2 days a week just to keep me grounded. I find when I have worked a low pay job while doing adult I've accomplished the most in my online work. Maybe having a job I don't really want(because of the low pay) has made me work harder to get out of it.

I haven't quit adult, I should have over $200 from adult coming in this month. I still get check every now and then from sponsors I didn't even know I was pushing. I still have over 10k blog posts sitting in txt files I have not had online in over a year.

At fucking Mcdonald's? I guess that depends on what your definition of "livable income" is... If it's living in your car, I guess that might work.

deltav 04-01-2014 04:51 PM

You need to put whatever extra cash you save into some actual domains, instead of the free hosts you always insisted on using for some reason against everyone's advice.

What kind of traffic?

Was it the same type as before and if so why do you think sales have gone down?

lezinterracial 04-01-2014 04:56 PM

Good luck Mike. I work at Sears now. Gotta do what you gotta do.

The keyword here is online.

I'm not sure what it is but I do know that when I tried to add blogs to my domain 3 months after the crash it was like pushing a rock uphill to get traffic, now it seems like a river has opened up since it's been a year. Maybe google had not de-indexed my blogs back then.

I'm pushing the same sponsors but adding new posts from cbill and new sponsors in the new blogs I create between the old posts.

Penny24Seven 04-01-2014 05:05 PM

I bet about fifty people here work at McDonalds but you are the first to admit it

Probably because he ignored all advice year after year after year and based his main business on thumblogger blogs rather than just using them as a funnel to paid hosting sites but fair play to the guy, he's man enough to admit times are hard which is more than many of the blowhards here.

That must have hurt, it hurt me enough when my 1000 post Tumblr blog went down. :2 cents:

How old were you when you got IBD and how are doctors treating it? I've been researching IBS and it seems like research is pointing to a neurological cause for it - the brain-gut axis.

Is IBD and IBS the same thing?

IBS is more like a stomach issue due to bad diet. IBD is something far worse. It's one of those fucked up scientific naming mistakes that happened before people new about Crohn's/Colitis.

I got it at 24 and have been leaning to the combo genetic and bad antibiotic drugs for my particular biology. In other words you are genetically predisposed to getting it but it doesn't show up until beneficial bacteria in your gut get killed off by some type of drug or diet issue. Once these gut bacteria are gone you can't get them back however.

But I can also see that there might be a brain-gut relationship in that stress makes it worse.

From my research I don't see a cure in the next 10 years but I'm hoping for better symptom management medicine.

Congrats on getting a job. I would think that someone with your skill set could land a better paying job with an online firm. Maybe Mcdonalds is fast and easy, like their food, but not good for you (like their food). Have you exhausted your search for an online firm?

I can tell you many businesses don't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to online savvy. They need your help.
