The plastic business has been good..closed on a new building today

This will probably turn out to be the best deal of my career.

The plant is 35 years old and has been on the market for nearly 6 years.
452,000sq feet of manufacturing space, 47,200 sq feet of office space on 48 acres.
After years of having my business in two plants we are going to be under one roof, with plenty of room to grow!

Confined 06-08-2012 05:23 PM

how much did you spend, or did you put it on plastic? ;seewhatididthere;

Smut 06-08-2012 05:30 PM

That's awesome! Looks like a great place! Where is it located?

DVTimes 06-08-2012 05:30 PM

What type of business will it be used for?

If I converted it to annual porn memberships..I would need to live 151898 years.

Rochard 06-08-2012 05:34 PM

So your gonna have manufacturing along with the office workers... Good luck. Sounds like a lot of fornicating about to happen.

I have two companies in separate locations. A plastics molding company and a metal stamping business.

nice work bro!

Does your two companies work together at all? That cuts out some transport costs.

Yes,they do. Many of the plastics customers also use metal parts in their products. Our metals division also builds the molds for plastics. Currently.we have a full time employee that does nothing but haul things back and forth between the two plants.

My only question is...why post that on GFY? Nobody here is in your business so it's kind of a useless post right? Nothing to do with much of anything that is discussed here.
Not trying to be mean. Just wondering what compelled you to come to GFY with this news about your life outside of the adult industry.

I'm 100% in the adult industry as are at least 1% of the people on here.
The other 99% of the posters here work in fast food restaurants and can't relate to what you're saying either. lol

What a fucking nancy dude...

Christ. You drop your thoughts of how no one here is a real porn industry right after telling him this place is only for pornographers.

Did one of those black dudes banging Claudia piss in your cheerios this morning or something?

I used to be a manager in a warehouse before I started in adult. Company moved into a 1,000,000 SF warehouse... totally empty when it started... and fucking huge. Of that, probably 600,000 was dry, and the rest between frozen, refrigerated and office space.

Bad memories, though... working 70 hour weeks for about $45,000 a year...

Do you not know Minte? He has probably been in the biz as long as you have. He has many friends here, which is why he is telling us. Just like you might mention the purchase of a new camera or guitar.

kane 06-08-2012 11:04 PM

Going to sell the old buildings or expand?

Confined 06-08-2012 11:18 PM

$29.95 * 12 months * 151898 = almost $55 million? no way. it's listing price was less than $3mil

While I doubt he paid $55.. Less than 3 million asking price? Hell I would have sold my grandma for that deal. And right now she comes pretty cheap..

We can. We have a motion master CNC router for plastics. It's a large table. It can handle a piece that's 5'w x 10' long.

I could've said 57 billion jelly beans. It's my way of avoiding talking about costs.
But you are correct. It was not $55m. If it got leveled by an F5 tornado the replacement cost would be around $55m...

They are both going on the market next week. Along with that there is a 6 acre piece of land that is across the street from the new plant that I am going to list. It's zoned I2 and that makes it valuable here.

Lace 06-09-2012 05:57 AM

Congrats on the new building, Minte!

Made a great choice not keeping all of your eggs in this industry. Not many can say the same.

Keep on keeping on :thumbsup

When I first walked into the plant it was almost scary huge. It's 32' high inside and there is a large mezzanine in the center that's around 100'w x 250' long. THere is a lunchroom, restrooms and employee lockers there.

We are only going to start out using around 200,000 ft of the space. I figure it will take at least the end of this year to get organized. If it feels right I plan on leasing out 150,000 of it on a longer term lease and keep the rest for any immediate growth needs.

Thank's Baddog, I'm glad someone still remembers my sites from the softer side of the adult industry.
