The Party of "NO" is Destroying America

Here's how many Republican Senators voted to raise the debt ceiling each time it came up for a vote since 1997.

1997: 55
2002: 31
2003: 50
2004: 50
2006: 51
2007: 26
2008: 34
2008: 33

Then Obama was elected.

2009: 2
2009: 1
2010: 0

Basically ANYTHING Obama is for - even when it was previously a GOP idea - gets voted down!

We are experiencing the worst obstructionist politics in our lifetime, and yet there are still dimwits out there, willing to vote Republican in the next election.

IDIOTS!

A little more heat in the northeast, and a possible election of a brain-dead tea bagger nitwit in 2012, and I may be headed your way!

Obama could save a drowning nun and there would be those who say he's gone against gods will. Been saying it since inauguration day.

The very idea that wealthy people and corps create jobs when they pay no taxes is utter bullshit. The very idea that letting Bush tax cuts expire as designed by Bush is a tax increase is utter bullshit. Yet media outlets let them do it constantly because they're pussies with no backbones.

They would say that giving a corp zero taxes so they dont move that plant to Mexico is "creating jobs". But they'll say that allowing a tax cut expire that has failed on every single promise is "raising taxes". Apparently they are non-patriotic cock suckers because while wealthy people would be fine with paying the rate they used to pay to help lift the country, the GOP mouthpieces pretend it would ruin the world.

Until we decide that it's important to provide good public education instead of the miserable failure we have now, I dont see how the US is going to create enough intelligent people to make informed choices even if they watched the news 24/7. What are our schools now? They're secured locations where job 1 is to not tolerate anything against the rules. Fuck, they just change your test scores to passing even when you fail because of "no childs test score left too low" (humorously called No Child Left Behind because the point is to never let a child fail or you might lose your funding).

Wake the fuck up and pay attention or you deserve what you get. These pussies pretended they were voted in to create jobs and they created NOTHING but opposition to every attempt to move the country forward. Country first? More like Fuck the Country. Thats the GOP motto in 2011: "FUCK you. Pay us or we'll trash this dump"

okee doke. My break time over.

Do you boys that constantly bash and insult others political beliefs ever think about how it affects the programs you carry in your signatures...and then how much money you are leaving on the table because of it?

AtlantisCash 07-22-2011 11:49 AM

Neither the Bible thumping republicans, nor tax loving democrats are Your option, i hope it's not too late before You Americans noticed that.

You may not mind what i say from 1000s of miles away since im just someone from a 3rd world country which is govd ran by puppets, but you can still think about it ;)

Without Bft3k's daily idiotic and simple minded diatribes about how he hates the right while pretending to be objective or even having a clue about what's going on, how else are the gfi residents going to get their laughs?

L-Pink 07-22-2011 12:00 PM

The problem is everyone pushing agendas that benefit them personally. Fuck everyone who does that. First concern should be for a strong vibrant country. A strong overall country will benefit everyone.

It makes me wonder at what these fellows are thinking. This might be a place to fuck around...etc. But it's business first. Always. No exceptions.
I can guarantee that their remarks are costing them money. The only gray area is,how much?

The Demon 07-22-2011 12:07 PM

The idea that your average gfy member has any common sense is ludicrous. I respect the opinion of people like joshgirls, wig, Kane and a few others but the rest make me laugh and sympathetic for the human race at the same time.

you should change your nic...

every time i see PR, i think you are that other clown and start to skip over your posts (which are usually very good).

anywho, the problem is that corporations are controlling the media through advertising and that is never a good mix..

the corporations would like people to believe that tax cuts create jobs when in fact corporations are enjoying some of best productivity rates ever. people are worried about losing what jobs are left, so they are working harder than ever and for less pay..

i am for tax cuts just like the next guy, but this country is not going to make it in the short term without raising taxes..

in the long term we need to scrap our current govt policies and rebuild them...

Agreed, it's business first. So why would a political commentary change that?

I shall inquire of my superiors if I should refrain from making any further political posts nevertheless. I'll abide by the decision too.

Tom,

Anyone who decides who they do business with based on comments on a message board is an idiot..

I have done business with people here that I couldn't stand, like Pimpdogg, but at the end of the day it was about dollars and cents and not me getting my feelings hurt by some internet toughguy on a message board... :1orglaugh

You're not quite as caustic as the other fellows that I see here. But the answer to your question is why would I send millions of monthly hits to someones program that constantly insults my political beliefs? There are plenty of programs online run by people who don't insult me on any level.

Ir seems they have no idea that when they pay for hosting, a good percentage of the fee is to cover the hosting companies various taxes. When when they pay CCBill 15% of sales, a lot of that is is cover the corporate, payroll, business property, and other taxes on CCBill. These are all corporations. When you buy Strongbox, Throttlebox, or Clonebox, you are paying more because it has to cover our corporate taxes, the 50% increase in our health insurance costs, and other government crap.

I'm tempted to list the real cost on our order page, like the phone companies show you that half of your bill is taxes:
Strongbox itself: $80
Fed corp tax recovery: $30
Payroll tax recovery: $35
Local tax recovery: $10
Obama care recovery: $39

Overall, roughly 50% of the cost of everything you buy is due to various taxes.
Saying you want more taxes on businesses just means you want everything you buy to cost more.

B2BwithJoeD 07-22-2011 12:35 PM

Europeans Billing Europe!

A good start would be taxing WEALTH, not INCOME - but that would change some things for the rich in both parties, and you'll never ever hear a Democrat recommend that one...

I disagree completely..What is the difference between communicating with someone on a message board or speaking with them in person?

Regarding Pimpdog,he left a fortune sitting on the table. He had a good program, yet there are a lot of webmasters that would never bother with him . Again, there are 100's of programs online to deal with. I deal with people I like.

if you are paying 50% of your product in taxes time to fire your cpa and an FYI my health insurance has gone up every year for ten yrs Ive had it. So I guess they had a crystal ball and knew Obama care was coming.

people are too emotional about those topics.. :2 cents:

Your father is a wise man.
I said I would not do business with Trey. And I didn't.
During his era, my sites were doing well over 1m uniques daily. How much do you think I could've added to his retirement fund? I still made exactly what I needed to make from it by sending it to other programs. And they added it to their retirement funds. :)

Now that the republicans agree with the democrats about the debt ceiling, the democrats change their mind about the debt ceiling, how convenient.

You really need to lay off MSNBC and Fox they are playing you like fools.

The fact is THE RIGHT THING to do is NOT raise the debt ceiling and get a balanced budget amendment. The former, ALL the democrats were for in 2006.

crockett 07-22-2011 01:06 PM

I blame Regan.. While yes the Republicans had their issues pre-Regan, after he was elected they pretty much turned into a bunch of brain dead idiots steam rolling toward real world idiocracy.

I'm not even talking about the politicians either.. :1orglaugh

Die hard Republican voters have become the pinnacle for the dumbing down of America.

I was just thinking the other day, about one of those grand examples as how stupid the average Republican voter is. Remember back when Obama was first elected, all the right wingers made mad dash for the gun store buying ammo & firearms in record numbers using "fear" of the Democrats are gonna take your guns.

Humm.. anyone take your guns yet morons?

dyna mo 07-22-2011 01:14 PM

(Reuters) - Ratings agency Moody's on Monday suggested the United States should eliminate its statutory limit on government debt to reduce uncertainty among bond holders.

The United States is one of the few countries where Congress sets a ceiling on government debt, which creates "periodic uncertainty" over the government's ability to meet its obligations, Moody's said in a report.

"We would reduce our assessment of event risk if the government changed its framework for managing government debt to lessen or eliminate that uncertainty," Moody's analyst Steven Hess wrote in the report.

The agency last week warned it would cut the United States' AAA credit rating if the government misses debt payments, increasing pressure on Republicans and the White House to come up with a budget agreement.

Moody's said it had always considered the risk of a U.S. debt default very low because Congress has regularly raised the debt ceiling during many decades, usually without controversy.

However, the current wide divisions between the House of Representatives and the Obama administration over the debt limit creates a high level of uncertainty and causes us to raise our assessment of event risk," Hess said.

Stepping further into the heated political debate about U.S. debt problems, Moody's suggested the government could look at other ways to limit debt.

It cited Chile, widely praised as Latin America's most fiscally-sound country, as an example.

"Elsewhere, the level of deficits is constrained by a 'fiscal rule,' which means the rise in debt is constrained though not technically limited," Moody's said, adding that such rule has been effective in Chile.

It also cited the example of the Maastricht criteria in Europe, which determines that the ratio of government debt to GDP should not exceed 60 percent. It noted, however, that such a rule is often breached by the governments.

In the United States, Moody's said the debt limit had not effectively curbed the rise in government debt because lawmakers regularly raise it and because that limit is not related to the level of expenditures approved by Congress.

I know that to ALL politicians it's about power.

But what if you honestly believe that "NO" is the correct thing to vote in 2011?
I mean, I may borrow money at one point in life, and then keep doing it until one day it comes time to say "enough is enough"

If they don't vote "NO" now...when will anyone in Washington DC EVER stop spending more than they take in?

I saw an analyst on CNN who showed numbers for the upcoming month of August:
The U.S. govt. will take in 174 BILLION dollars in revenue. It will spend 303 BILLION dollars.

And that happens every goddamn month! It has to stop and stop now.

It's ok to make choices for yourself, however if you are an elected official you have the duty to make choices for your country's citizens based on what is good for both them and the country. Not to use that choice as some tool for their next re-election campaign.

Quite convenient for them to finally have enough and vote "no" when it's a Democrat holding the Whitehouse.

Robbie 07-22-2011 01:43 PM

By the way, here is a quote from SENATOR Barrack Obama when he voted NO to raise the debt ceiling in 2006 (he didn't even bother to vote on it in 2007 and 2008)

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

Humm.. anyone take your guns yet morons?

He was too busy fucking up his own health care plan. He is getting to the gun ban now. Not via congress but via the executive orders, the same ones he hated when Bush did it.

The reforms, which are being crafted by the Department of Justice, come after a series of meetings with relevant stakeholders in the Second Amendment debate. But in a nod to the difficulties of getting legislation through a Republican-run House of Representatives, only executive orders or administrative actions -- and not an actual bill -- are expected to be handed to Congress.

1997: 55
2002: 31
2003: 50
2004: 50
2006: 51
2007: 26
2008: 34

IDIOTS!

That's the way politics works!

Didn't Obama vote no the last time when he was a Congressman?

see, this is what pisses me off about you guys that push false propaganda...

obama admin is not pushing for a ban on guns..

do you post this stuff just to troll or do you really believe what you are writting?

i'm not sticking up for obama one bit here..

don't think for 1 second that if the govt could figure out how to disarm the public they would, but this is not what the current admin is asking for..

anyone who doesn't do business with someone because of your political opinions is leaving money on the table as well. thats just moronic.

Regarding Pimpdog,he left a fortune sitting on the table. He had a good program, yet there are a lot of webmasters that would never bother with him . Again, there are 100's of programs online to deal with. I deal with people I like.

so you rather do business with someone who might be a nazi, kkk, ect as long as they keep it themselves rather than someone who voices their beliefs? you fail to see the flip side is that by doing that you are leaving money on the table, sure there are lots of programs out there but you might make 2,3,4 times the money with the ones you are not promoting based purely because you are offended that someone believes something different than you do which in itself is silly. you won't like someone if they don't agree with your politics? why? i am friends with a lot of people who have totally opposite beliefs and we can talk about it and still like each other and respect that while we might have different opinions, we all have love for our country.

When should it stop?

Never?

One more term?

I don't care about Dems/Repubs. When does it all stop? When do we have a balanced budget requirement? When do we start getting this shit under control?

TheSquealer 07-22-2011 04:04 PM

And for the record, i personally believe that the height of stupidity is when one devotes their time to pointing out hypocrisy in politics as if it only applies to one side... as doing so is also patently hypocritical.

at the end of the day, the problem is still there, the problem is real and the problem is going to eventually come crashing down on us all and the world like nothing we've ever seen in our lifetimes.

I know a few of you are smarter than this... whatever excuse you dream up to answer this, is nothing more than complete b.s. The facts don't lie, they aren't twisted, and... it's not like this is the only time it has happened like this.

While both sides always play the game, right now one side is holding this country by the balls and is about to fuck us all over, and all some of you can do is... make up a b.s. excuse?

Holy crap, wake the hell up!
