You guys are all fighting with each other and getting pissed at companies making a profit.
Who we should ALL be pissed at is the govt. THEY are the ones just printing money as they need it and spending it on anything they want. At least a company EARNED their money. I think this is one of the ways the govt. gets away with this bullshit. By turning us on ourselves. By the way...it doesn't matter if it's the Republicans FOUR TRILLION dollar "reduction" or Obama's 2.7 TRILLION reduction... They both are OVER A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS. In other words, even if future congress and presidents 10 years from now actually stick with it...it still will only be 400 billion a year for the Republican plan and 270 billion a year for Obama's plan. And that is just about how much the govt. spends in ONE MONTH. Guys, stop arguing about "republicans" or "democrats" or economic theories...it's all bullshit. MONEY & POWER is the name of this game. And it's the politicians who are playing us all like puppets on a string. They are ALL the same. And they are the ones to blame. Not me, not you, and not people who become successful through hard work. |

Republican's #1 goal is to block Obama from a 2nd term, not to manage your country. The rest of the world sees it, but right wings retards like you are playing russian roulette with the world economy right now. If trust is gone in the dollar, your country is going in the shitter. The USD is the world reserve currency son... when trust is gone, power will be too. The very deregulation and legislation that got the world in this bubble and trouble is what you're voting for right now... You're trusting corporations ? |

Since the republicans have put fourth at least three comprehensive plans and the democrats have not put forth any plan, that makes the dems the party of "no", doesn't it? Great leadership, Mr. President. |

Just FYI , the USA situation has an influence on many countries ... just as the Greece situation ... If your country would colapse WITHOUT any repercussions to the rest of the world, then I would not give a shit .. But since you are invaders, war mongers and religious fanatics, it does influence my life and concerns me . .. and correct the ignorance of some of the WTT here is fun ... mainly when they do not accept to being brought back to facts ... PS: I have a US corp doing business in the USA as an alien non resident. I also own fully paid a condo in Pompano Beach ( Florida ) where I pay taxes . How about you ... ??? |

Obviously the US has influence everywhere. The US however is far from the only country in serious financial trouble. So are almost all Western and Asian countries and many are much worse off than the US. Japan and China are far more fucked than the USA. However, that doesn't change the fact that your favorite topic of conversation is the USA, far left wing US politics, attacking US right wing politics or gleefully posting about anything that might portray the US in a negative light - like pointing out when a cop shoots someone or whatever mundane news is out that day. Its fucking crazy how many Canadians have nothing to talk about beyond the USA and what the USA does that day. You do have your own country, your own retarded politicians, your own threats to free speech and most other articles of your own Constitution, your own bizarre news etc. Would be interesting to see Canadians here start acting as if they have their own country to worry about some day. :2 cents: |

Not from me ... BTW, please post the thread of "like pointing out when a cop shoots someone or whatever mundane news is out that day" .. BTW, I have many threads started that are more like funny weird shit from the 4 corners of the world ... Politic thead are left to Vendzilla, wehere again I will correct the misquotes so-called facts ( like I did in this one ). I cannot do much about your hurt " right-wing " feelings, but I was against the Iraq war from day one, looking for those WMD ... Sorry if I showed how much of a bunch of sheeps you guys were .... :1orglaugh |

Why no DEBT Reduction Plan agreement yet? Obama wants to "lock in" the 33% increase in Government spending he and the 111th Congress initiated 22 months ago. This is also why they have not yet passed a budget in 2 years - They know that If you knew what they were spending, and on what... you would vote them out of office!

But as I've said over and over in this thread...the TINY cuts that they are wanting to do (which will of course keep all the politicians rolling in the money) are stupid too. The Republicans want 4 trillion over TEN years. Reid wants 2.7 over TEN YEARS. This is bullshit. They need to cut 4 trillion THIS YEAR. They are forecast to spend 303 BILLION dollars in August. And only bringing in 174 Billion. So while we have a huge national deficit...they are STILL using deficit spending every month. And they want to "cut" the budget for the year by the amount they spend every MONTH? WTF? That shit wouldn't fly in my personal or business budget. But our govt. is doing it. And you best believe that those career politicians (dems and repubs are the same damn thing) are living in luxury and making millions of dollars while they pad the pockets of their friends with taxpayer money. They are still...today...spending almost twice as much every day as they bring in. Just pure common sense would tell you to STOP that! And then address paying down the debt. How in the hell are we EVER going to start paying one dollar on our debt if they keep spending twice as much as they bring in? |
I agree .. the cuts are way too tiny and spead across a way too long period ...
Now, are the politicians AND the US Citizens ( inckuding the baggers ) ready to slash into : - DOD - Various wars that are not on the books ( on drugs, on gays, etc ... ) - Unemployment payments for those that should not receive them ( they are out of work because they left the job, were bad employees - late, bad attitude, .. - , are chronic abusers of the system ) - subsidies to various undeserving groups or again companies and you can go on ... Naturally, the Bush tax cuts should have been expired , but your president needs to grow a pair ... :2 cents: |

Watching all the fights going on between everybody in this thread just proves that the U.S. govt. are playing all of us like puppets on a string.
Everyone is falling for their deception while they do the REAL dirty work and none of us can see it. Think of them like a con artist or magician. They hold up something for you to see and concentrate on with one hand...while their other hand is doing something completely different. Things aren't gonna change until we all realize it's a game they are playing on us. There are no "republicans" or "democrats"...there are just career politicians who are part of the money grab in Washington. And as long as they can create these fantasy "disagreements" and keep the entire country distracted with fighting each other in arguments about these make-believe debates...then they can continue the rape of our nation. Who knows? Maybe this time they WILL tax the fuck out of the remaining corporations and drive them 100% out of the country. Or maybe this time they will go the other way and "reform the tax code"...it's all bullshit. In the end...the POLITICIANS are the ones causing all of this. And it is to their benefit. The more dependent we are...the more power they have. :( But y'all just keep on arguing... |

I sure hope you are wrong on this Tony. Because I personally am sickened by the amounts of money they are still borrowing TODAY. Today they will spend about a billion dollars. And they will "only" take in 500 million dollars. So you see...they aren't even really addressing the real problem: Spending more than they have. |
Jesus H Christ:
The Dot-com bubble burst on March 10th 2000. By March 20th, Nasdaq had lost more than 10% from its peak. By 2001 the crash was going on at full speed and almost 5 Trillion of market value was lost. The US was in recession for 8 months, from March to November 2001, ending 10 years of growth. Up until this time, The US Government had a surplus, not a deficit, thanks to Clinton. When GW Bush took office, he spent the entire surplus. People still got their checks because the US was able to borrow. There was never any argument about raising the debt ceiling at this time and there was no reason then to not raise it, just like there is no reason today not to raise it. The markets did not rally "4 months later" but instead almost 24 months later. At the peak in 2000, Nasdaq was at 5000 but fell to less than 1000 by 2003 before it started to turn around. |
Congress already passed a bill to raise the debt ceiling. Why are the democrats and Obama stopping it from passing the Senate?

The Republican and Democratic parties have taken over our govt. plain and simple. "The United States Constitution has never formally addressed the issue of political parties. The Founding Fathers did not originally intend for American politics to be partisan. In Federalist Papers No. 9 and No. 10, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison, respectively, wrote specifically about the dangers of domestic political factions. In addition, the first President of the United States, George Washington, was not a member of any political party at the time of his election or throughout his tenure as president. Furthermore, he hoped that political parties would not be formed, fearing conflict and stagnation" These days the govt. controlled media tells us that ANY candidate who isn't a Republican or a Democrat is not a "serious candidate" and can not win an election. And we're all conditioned to believe that and so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. |
