Heaps of different stats on the % it increases the risk around, but the individual/genetical base risk probably varies alot. It's a very controversial topic, certainly no excuse, but genetic predestination seems to make a huge difference.

I quit cigs now for 3 weeks i gave myself a diet and exercise routine also to give something to aim for and not make quitting the cigarettes so hard and its been quite easy.
Im 20 and smoked since i was 14, from about 16 ive smoked twenty a day or close. I couldnt imagine leaving it so late to quit that your 30,40+ years old. By then the damage is mostly already done and chances of getting cancer are very high for you then.

there is no direct link to smoking and lung cancer. what about people who don't smoke that get lung cancer or people who smoke their entire lives and don't get it.

The co-relation is to the amount of tar produced. Not lung cancer. These studies are never accurate any ways because they have a hard time finding people who only smoke weed, most smoke cigarettes as well. Also marijuana doesn't have a lot of chemicals added during production that tabacco has. Its no miracle, smoke anything enough and you'll probably get lung cancer.

There are far worse things out there than weed, at least it doesn't completely destroy people's lives. Shit, I was high most of my college career and I did pretty well.
