Which is MSN, yes...

With Vista being standard browser on all new PCs, MSN will have bigger share of the search market than google.. Trends show live.com / MSN search volumes are on the rise while google is on the decline.

You have a link?

lakroze 02-26-2007 05:43 AM

ok, but its much easier for me to optimize for google than for msn, (I know some tricks works with google and not with msn) do you have some article about msn optimizations?

I don't have one that explains how to optimize for live.com, but did get an article in my email from an SEO news service that detailed how live.com will be cornering a larger share of search volumes due to the fact that VISTA's built in windows live search feature uses live.com & all the new PCs have VISTA.

Barefootsies 02-26-2007 06:10 AM

Already did, and it's paying off.

:thumbsup

Jace 02-26-2007 06:11 AM

Hmmm sounds like a good idea :thumbsup
People will never figure out how to change a homepage !
Even 60% of microsoft employees use google over msn/live you really think vista we currently have a better ranking on msn than google anyway !
Its always a good idea to be on as many search engines as poss anyway !

Jakke PNG 02-26-2007 06:45 AM

I'd like to know what you change on your pages to target msn instead of google? You have some insight into their spidering algorithms so you know which SE you target?

I know absolutely fucking nothing about SE optimization, but I can't imagine you being able to decide which SE's you want your results to be in. Metatags like "I like bill gates, screw googlebot", "66.249.66.176 sucks!", or what?

FlowerKid 02-26-2007 06:45 AM

I think Google and Microsoft have to optimize their bots for crawling the internet. I have better things to do as setting up sitemaps and such things for them.

Galina Los 02-26-2007 07:37 AM

can you share this link from SEO news here pls...I wanna try this stuff too. think that it has a big future.

Youve been missing every train for the last 6 years. Any noob who came online last month already knows more about the net and makes more than you. You are not exactly in a position to give people advice as from all people you need it most.

Uh hello, you are asking Spacedog :1orglaugh

That guy has an IQ of a 16 year mentally handicapped girl.

Klen 02-26-2007 08:04 AM

There are no special optimizing.Every seo optimizing will effect you position at all search engines.

Babaganoosh 02-26-2007 08:04 AM

You newbies had better pay attention. When Spacedog talks, the industry listens.

Come on, MSN might pick up a couple percentage points in market share, but nothing that will blow you away. Google is still the search engine of choice by everyone. People have been navigating to them by years, installing their toolbar, etc. They also have a lot of deals in place with computer retailers like Dell to have their search load up on the homepage.

The search industry isn't going to change because a new OS decides to put a little search box on the desktop.

But...but...you mean Spacedog could be wrong???

Adultnet 02-26-2007 08:48 AM

well its a good idea..:)

NoWhErE 02-26-2007 08:54 AM

Logically he had a good point. He just forgot that msn was always the first homepage to pop up on a clean install of windows and that people always took the time to change it to google.

Why would it be any different with Vista? I dunno

Because live is a carbon copy of google and people just might stick with it?

I have a site that gets 10 times the MSN/LIVE searches than it does google, and it does better thany my google sites.

MSN/LIVE = easier to do, and money to.

Well, true that people aren't going to see astronomical changes in search volume, but from where I'm looking at this, those people searching via msn or live.com are potentially NEW users that are not savvy in finding free porn, thus increasing your sales potential.

When you think about it.. take Joe Schmoe who's been around for awhile.. say he get's a new PC because he needs one, but he's not going to change his habits, he'll keep using google, maybe even opt to downgrade to IE because maybe he don't like VISTA.. ok..

Next we have Joe Blow.. he's a newb.. got himself a new pc.. learns to use VISTA.. uses the built in search.. finds some porn.. he don't know how to get it free.. he becomes a member,, :)

Oh & btw Dutch Twink Franck.. you know jack :321GFY Keep running your mouth twinkie because that's all you are, is a mouthy troll

Nice :thumbsup
I didn't know that.. my bad & thanks for clearing that up for me..

I'll have to remember that line.. I guess it's kind of like one of those things, like when a brit says to an american "scatch a fag".

Quick Buck 02-26-2007 01:14 PM

kinda cool though looking at alexa:
http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?c=1&f...=1&h=300&w=500

i'd be happy to see google dethroned.... more competion means everybody has to work harder and be more innovative :)

Browsers and operating systems are two different things moron. Isn't Burger King hiring where you are? Or pizza delivery? Wait, scartch pizza dleivery. That would entail you being on the road which would in turn endanger the lives of many innocent people.

Why don't you take a wack at filling out online surveys. Better yet, get a free email account and try your hand at sweepstakes. :2 cents:

Whoopdefuckingdoo.. I mistakenly typed IE instead of windows XP you asshat. :321GFY :321GFY

At any rate, I am right, so again, fuck off loser.

It's been said in Mainstream that MSN traffic might come slower but converts better. I suppose the theory behind it is Google surfers are smarter than MSN surfers (who are usually new to PC's/the Internet.. who else would use MSN? their index is shit) who are therefore more likely to click ads, sign-up for stuff without researching and pay over the odds on products/membership as they don't know where else to look.

XPays 02-26-2007 01:48 PM

we capture domains all the time with 2000+ active links in msn and the traffic is a trickle... all traffic is welcomed though however.
