MediaGuy 10-12-2008 03:27 PM

optimize for MSN?

All I have to do is think about MSN and it indexes sites that don't even exist...

:D

Msn

Last year, I've purchased some SEO service. It ruined my MSN traffic almost completely.I've never recovered and for me, MSN is best converting traffic. My personal opinion is that is is because google is used in all countries and majority of MSN traffic is from US, and we all know who are best membership byers. That experiment showed me best how much MSN traffic is good.

Anyway, I am using Webmasters Live tools, but is there anything special that we can do to get more MSN traffic?

biggest tip is if you are going for the keyword "porn", you should try to get the domain porn.com, it helps alot with msn's algorithm :1orglaugh

With Vista being standard browser on all new PCs, MSN will have bigger share of the search market than google.. Trends show live.com / MSN search volumes are on the rise while google is on the decline.

LOL about that noise.

How did I miss this thread loaded with all the google experts?

CaptainAmerica 10-12-2008 06:33 PM

So Spacedog, i bet you have shitloads of msn traffic by now?

tiger 10-12-2008 10:45 PM

WTF is wrong with your sig.

mynameisjim 10-12-2008 11:06 PM

Step 1: Optimize for Google. That should set up you up pretty well for the other SEs as also.

Step 2: If you happen to know some secret ways to game MSN, check that it won't be contrary to what helps you in Google and do it, if it does, go back to step 1.

I've found many spammy techniques work best with MSN, techniques I would never use since they would jeopardize my Google results.

pigman 10-12-2008 11:38 PM

Msn sucks ass

Lamis 10-12-2008 11:57 PM

I think spacedog is confused..

If your site is optimized for google, THEN it is already optimized for MSN.

There is no such thing like choosing to optimize for google with one code and for msn with another.

These kind of threads give me a good laugh.

Fap 10-13-2008 12:00 AM

Yeahh eveeryone who doesnt like traffic go for MSN!

not true Lamis, the algorithms are different, therefore, there are subtle differences in strategy when one wants to optimie for one search engine versus another

I have my Tomahawk ready to blast the first google bot that hits my server.... lol .......

Nobody besides Matt and his crew know the exact Google Algorithm, so there is no such thing like adjusting the code or strategy of a site to get more MSN traffic rather than Google traffic.

It makes no sense to say: "Ok, I will change my code and strategy now so I get more MSN traffic, because I don't like Google anymore."

Posts like these give me a good laugh, keep them coming.

just because you don't know the strategy or code doesn't mean it doesn't exist

fools like to laugh with their minds closed shut to possibilities beyond their understanding :2 cents:

It looks like you don't read before answering. I never said it doesn't exist.

Again, nobody besides Matt and his crew know the exact Google Algorithm, so there is no such thing like adjusting the code or strategy of a site to get more MSN traffic rather than Google traffic.

And I'm sure about one thing, you have no idea about SEO, otherwise you would not say thing like that. :2 cents:
