He wasn't the greatest musician. His songs were just ok -- there was no great talent. He was a hippie, big fucking deal. The Beatles sucked too. I don't get the appeal.

ok, i will give you those songs. but other than that, they should have stopped after hard days night.

my parents are huge beatles fans, so i have heard most of their songs. nothing every reall struck me as being that great.

They changed music forever. First band to use multi track recordings, heavy guitar distortion, concept albums, orchestras in rock music, I can go on and on.

Movies I agree were not that great unless you are a big fan.

But go listen to some songs like Glass Onion, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Across the Universe, Norwegion Wood, Julia, Dear Prudence, Revolution 9, etc. and tell me the were not creative, talented, and inovative.

You may not like them but they were extremely talented.

By the way, I personally think that The White Album and Abbey Road were brilliant music but I still dont care when some drug addict musician that I did not know dies.

He spent the later years of his life wallowing in self pity because his talent was limited and he came to the realization that he had been riding Macartney and the others coattails all-along.
