Anybody here is actually for the war ?

If you are, tell us why . Because i don't see why bush would make a war . I never heard a single person that say that he wants war yet .

multisexsite 12-20-2002 04:59 PM

I want a war.

x-vision 12-20-2002 05:00 PM

My theory is he wants a quick war to stimulate the economy. Long drawn out wars will put the US back into a recession, but a quick win would help. My problem is with him doing it now. All the uncertainty can't be good around Christmas time for retail stocks.

Scootermuze 12-20-2002 05:03 PM

I think he should at least finish the one he got going after 9/11 before he starts up another one..

Im sorry, but you do not go off killing thousands of innocent people to stimulate your fuckin economy.

Just the Village Idiot 12-20-2002 05:11 PM

I'm for a continuation of a war that started when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

IMO -- that war still continues as Iraq has not lived up to the terms of the CONDITIONAL cease-fire it signed to 'end' the war. Just because there are no bombs being dropped doesn't denote peace time.

The UN should be asking the US to intervene.... not the other way around.

But the UN is comprised of 'peace at all costs' sissy socialites... go figure.

Just the Village Idiot 12-20-2002 05:12 PM

In case you missed it...

I believe we've been at war with Iraq since they violated the cease fire agreement... this is nothing new.

Geez, keep telling yourself that...

You can, if you're the president of the USA, do you really think this would be the first time this thing happens? :winkwink:

DamageX 12-20-2002 05:23 PM

For all of you thinking the US making war on any country is just to defend world peace and freedom, think again...

Here's a link that might make you reconsider:
http://www.zmag.org/GlobalWatch/chomskymit.htm

It's about 2 hrs long, but I think the time I spent listening to that was well worth it. Hope it's gonna be well worth it for you too.

ColKurtz 12-20-2002 05:23 PM

I'm for war.

It will be much better for the longterm to get rid of that problem now. Rather than waiting till he builds up a ton of weapons.

The Iraqi people will be dancing in the streets when that shitead is out of there.

DamageX 12-20-2002 05:25 PM

Oh, and make sure you don't miss the last half-hour or so of questions from the audience, I had a blast hearing some hysterical chick calling Noam Chomsky anti-American. :1orglaugh

Rochard 12-20-2002 05:26 PM

I always thought that war stimulates the economy.

And the US does not go to war to help get our economy moving again. It doesn't work that way.

I'm for war. Iraq needs a new government; One that will take care of it's citzens instead of gassing them.

And.... Who ever said above that we are at war with Iraq, well, your right. They have been shoooting at us, and we've been shooting back at them. That's war.

Funny how they haven't shot down any of our planes.

And just who do you think is going to replace Saddam Hussein? Its not just the leader that is the problem, you average arab citizen hates the United States too. Polls in Palestine show that 70-80% of your average joe citizen supports suicide bombing.

So far Saddam appears to have refrained from supplying terrorist organizations with biological weapons. This is probably because he's not a true believer. He doesn't want to be nuked by us because he enjoys his life. The next guy might be a true believer who thinks that he'll go to heaven and get his 72 virgins for setting of an anthrax bomb in downtown San Francisco.

As bad as Saddam is, it could be ALOT worse. The US does not have a good history when it comes to engineering governments.

Who ever gets our stamp of approval. The country will be a puppet of the United States for many years to come.

Riiiiiiiiight.. and how many times has that worked when we've tried it before?

Afghanistan? (Are we on our 2nd or 3rd attempt at puppet governance there now? I forget..)

Iran?

Grenada?

Half of South America?

Libya?

Talk about wishful thinking...

What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War

Absolutely nothing

DamageX 12-20-2002 06:19 PM

Something I still don't understand is what the fuck does the US have to do in Iraq? Other then flexing muscles and getting more puppets? It was bad enough during the cold war, now there's only one superpower left and it turns the world upside down pretending to be the (crooked) police...

DamageX 12-20-2002 06:20 PM

War doesn't decide who's right. It only decides who's left.

lets just hope it doesn't turn into another Saudi Arabia. (you know... the place that most of the s/11 terrorists came from) For all Saddam's large faults.. he at least keeps the muslim fundamentalists at bay... there is a serious risk of creating a vacuum of ideological power that an islamic revolution could fill.. or at the very least operate under the facade of an American installed puppet state. I'd be happier if Bush was actually chasing the guys that did the bombing and not creating a distraction in Iraq.
I have serious misgivings as to whether this will create fewer future terrorists..
I would rather they tactical nuke each of his 13 palaces simultaneously without warning or other similar attempt on his life than all out war which will only hurt iraqi civilians more.

Trust me, you're not. And you just proved your narrow-mindedness calling me a socialist for MENTIONING Chomsky's lecture (I never quoted him). But hey, I'm sure you must be getting a big kick out of being ignorant. :)

And FYI, I'm a liberal, not a socialist, there's a BIG difference. Look it up, if you're not aware of it.

Webby 12-20-2002 06:28 PM

For those who want a war... Dump your own families into the middle of it and it may focus you mind as to what it means.

And... since it is easy to sit on our asses and make some "dirty pics" all day long without "fronting up" on a battlefield, give some thought to the, often young men and women, ya propose sending to fight a war on your behalf while ya make some more "websites".

I know a few of these "young men and women" and I sure don't want to see them going into any war on the basis of "nuthing".

Otherwise shut the fuck up:)

No in this day and age there isn't. I assume you are for (socialist) programs such as welfare, Medicare, social security, federal funding of education, universal healthcare etc....

If I'm wrong... I'm wrong.

Just tell me the ones you oppose...

then tell me which ones aren't socialist.
