Do you think I lowered my Ferrari too Low? (Pics)

It rides ok, about another inch and I start taking out Reflectors on the Freeway.
Why can't I just leave the suspension alone. Started with my 77 Pinto when I was 15 and now every car I get my hands on. Either Monster Truck too high, or Slam everything to the floor. When do I grow up. :Oh crap

Rick Diculous 09-14-2009 11:18 PM

Your ride looks sweet man!!

magmamoose 09-14-2009 11:21 PM

looks alright, i don't see the point in slamming a Ferrari though...

Semi-Retired-Dave 09-14-2009 11:21 PM

What happened to the second pic? That was strange. It was gone for second. I thought maybe it was the size of the image.
Oh well.

I buy cars to enjoy them, not to resell them. I'm not the type of guy that will park it
so I don't put miles on them. I abuse them and drive them like its suppose to be driven.

Well, I cut and pasted the URL so I could see the second pic, and it doesn't look like you could take it anywhere that has speed bumps.

SomeCreep 09-14-2009 11:26 PM

Too low, speed bumps will ruin your car.

NetHorse 09-14-2009 11:28 PM

How did you lower it? Adjustable coilovers? Got something to protect the oilpan, did you check your tires to make sure you aren't rubbing the inner fender walls over bumps?

It looks great, so no I don't think it's too low. :thumbsup

3inch suspension drop, no protection on the oil pan. And made sure tires don't rub.
You know your cars. :thumbsup

More power to ya since you can, but that statement seems contradictory of it self...

I would call it abuse though :winkwink:

I agree, it is definitely abuse. Because when you feel the scraping and the pounding it gets on the pot hols and the driveways, it's abuse. Maybe in a year or so the Cash for Clunkers comes back in business and I can trade it in (If they give me $4500.00 for it) :1orglaugh

papill0n 09-14-2009 11:40 PM

no, lower it more

First, Beautiful car!

Next, I know "Practical" isn't the word you would normally associate with a car like that, but it applies anyway. Here's why. Your car is too low. The only place you can enjoy such a low ride like that is on a perfect highway with perfect turns and no cops or other cars to slow you down.

Most of the time you're driving your baby on "typical" streets. You know the shit that passes for typical: Pot holes, debris, cracks in pavement, garbage, you name it.

As soon as you try to take your car up the slightest hill, you will not only scrape whats underneath, you'll wreck the front and back bumpers because they'll drag on the concrete of course. I don't know what a paint job for a car like that costs, but I'm sure its insane.

It's obvious you love your car, but really you won't be able to relax enough to enjoy it like that (at least I woudn't). If I were you, I'd take more pictures, drive it around 1 more night and show it off, and then get it raised to an inch or so below factory. Yes high speed perfect universe turns won't be quite as much fun, but the rest of your drive will be a little more fun than they are now.

STUNNING car.. congrats!!

Thank you,
Actually, I just sold the CyberAge Lambo and that car was even lower. I don't mind the scraping of the bumpers and the bottom. But this car feels like a Go Kart. It's just a fun everyday thrasher. But for long trips and take my Audi.

I was going to see if I can get it up to Willow Springs and run it on the track. I just don't trust the rims and tires that are on there. But we'll see.

Raf1 09-14-2009 11:56 PM

that's insane, but I like it :)

camchoice 09-14-2009 11:58 PM

Don't have to come to the Netherlands with that thing, we have speedbumps everywhere nowadays...

TheSenator 09-15-2009 12:08 AM

Nice car...

Does your Ferrari lower at high speeds?

gecko 09-15-2009 12:31 AM

Better watch out for speed bumps

VeriSexy 09-15-2009 01:26 AM

Maybe a tad low.

shimmy2 09-15-2009 01:47 AM

doubtful you will scrape the oil pan with any midengine car, even if it is sitting on its nuts. it looks like it will bottom out on a piece of paper with that ride height, but have fun man

Adult-biz 09-15-2009 02:01 AM

Fantastic looking machine - congrats!
Personally though, I feel some things are best left alone. :)

closer 09-15-2009 02:19 AM

A Ferrari is a jewel and needs no lowering imo

JD 09-15-2009 02:45 AM

there's an old school one for sale in my area lmk if you want it and i'll give you the guys info

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...errari_F40.JPG\

looks like that ^

spankmo 09-15-2009 03:57 AM

nice ride, but better stay put of our town.. speed bumps here are 20 cm high and 60 cm wide..

bdld 09-15-2009 04:34 AM

it's just right, too far is when the top of the wheel hides inside the body of the car

Jon Oso 09-15-2009 04:37 AM

Honestly, it's almost low enough as far as wheel gap goes. Maybe a different wheel with the correct offset will help with how low it is.

Then again they look like 20" rears and 19" fronts so you're kinda fucked on making them bigger and I doubt you could fit a taller sidewall tire on it.

Great looking car though, nice to see someone modding it other than doing the regular oil changes and repairs. As long as there's no rub I would see about doing maybe a spacer for the fronts and rears (super small like 1/8th inch) to have them sit flush with the finders.

John-ACWM 09-15-2009 05:05 AM

Whatever you like.Smooth car :thumbsup

Not sure how that is going to help the pick up or refilling the sump :2 cents:

Looks good but far too low, I love my low cars too but that just looks like a nightmare to drive. Can already see the scrapes on the skirts. Looks like the rubber is getting low on your tyres too :winkwink:
