My last .XXX thread - please read
On May 10th, ICANN will convene again to talk about .XXX that should have been nailed down 2 years ago, but the response from the adult community was seriously lacking.
Two years later, .XXX is closer to becoming a reality, because on the whole, it appears that ICM Registry has been able to prove with their letters and whatever evidence of support, that the adult community supports .XXX, thus achieving one of the main ICANN directives of being able to demonstrate constituency. All the chatter and talk the last 2 years clearly shows that the adult community DOES NOT WANT .XXX, but the voices have not been heard for the volumne that it represents, but instead, more of a mouse peep from a very few who been talking outloud about this subject. What has been sadly missing, is that paysite owners and webmaster resources sites haven't emailed their affiliates/members who are just as affected by all of this, to get involved, to post up as companies and individuals to take a stand, that we can't even get 1,000 webmasters to post up to [email protected] to visually demonstrate that .XXX is not wanted. The few responses up at ICANN are great for those that posted, but it really sends the wrong message by the lack of numbers posting. As much a fuss as a few of us have publically made, ICANN can look at the lack of large responses as a sign that ICM must indeed have support of the adult community. Lawley stated in an interview at AVNonline that over a thousand adult webmasters wrote in their support for .XXX. How shameful that we can't even refute that claim by getting 1,000 webmasters to even post up against .XXX. I don't blame the "industry leaders" that are involved in backing .XXX at all... its business to them, and it will be business as usual if .XXX gets approved. Where those that did support .XXX start to feel the consequences of their short-sighted greed, is when legislation is imposed or .XXX is used to cause harm. I am sure those early supporters didn't think through this in the long term, but for them, it won't matter.. they have made their money, and they can survive whatever happens while everyone else is left holding the shit-bag. This .XXX issue really underscores the lack of unity or cohesiveness and operating in complete self-interest. ----------------- The sad fact is that as a whole, the industry will get what it deserves through its greed. It is unfortunate that all the many good business people that i know, will get tossed under the same ill-gotten consequences imposed by a minority, and validated by a majority of mindless/silent/apathetic webmasters. ----------------- Sending an email to: [email protected] which shows up at: http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-tld-agreement/ could have little effect on .XXX, if .XXX is already a forgone conclusion by ICAAN, but it will atleast demonstrate to the industry (and to those who have been active in the fight for what is right) that there is some hope that when the bell is rung, webmasters will come forward. Anyone who has a mailing list, could email that list with info about being a part of the petition against .XXX by companies and individuals sending an email to [email protected]. Be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem. and that's all i have to say 'bout dat. Fight the Gump! |

Brandon,
You have done a great thing speaking out about the .XXX - It's the same thing i tell MikeHawk, it takes courage to go against the people behind this, and both of you have certainly shown it. While eveyone has sat back and just watched this whole thing go down both of you were fighting along with others and trying to get everyone to see that if they only spoke out against it we could have fought and put it to bed a long time ago. Let's hope that we can beat this... Thank you to both of you and everyone else involved in fighting for being so concerned about our industry and making a stand. Harley Girl! |

Brandon,
Dumb ....that is all I can say......most on this board or other boards cant even begin to understand what this is, fly?s so far over there heads. So you really can?t get mad, upset or disappointed at people who clearly have no clue. Sad really, .XXX said to me to my face at Internext Florida this past year...."they adult industry online will never unite to fight us on this one" ....they were right. So all the folks that sit on the panels at shows claiming to be experts, blah blah blah......blah blah blah....what advise or how do you explain why you were absent when the chips were down and the industry had its ass in the air? Quote me: "If .XXX passes, it will be the silver bullet that kills our industry or hurts it to the point of a serious limp" |

i can understand affiliate webmasters not paying attention, but surely, paysite owners have or should.. and are in a position to contact their affiliates to get them to do some action. Fight the bell ringing! |

I voiced my concerns- as did many people I know, sadly it will fall on deaf ears. |
Anyone that is for .XXX should be shot in the head. Seriously they should. PERIOD. So what do you pro .XXX fuckers have to say about that BIATCHES?

and you were right also..... |

that's extreme... those that support and have financial gain from .XXX is purely their business. the .XXX supporters aren't the problem, neither is ICM Registry for putting forth the application... the problem lies with those that are against .XXX, and have not spoken up. Some say they didn't, because they fear retaliation. To some degree, that could be true, but there are plenty of instances were business bridges got burned, and business was still done later. If someone was going to cut off biz relationships because of an opposiing viewpoint you have.. then you are better off that it happened. If supporters of .XXX make a ton of money, great for them. If .XXX fails, those .XXX supporters have other income streams, that it would have been just one stream of many that didn't make out. Fight the red dot! |

1. What is .XXX and what will it do? 2. Why do the 'big players' support .XXX when it actually harms the industry? 3. I want to send an email. What should it say? |

everyone including you should know it already. If GFY is a board to do biz for adult webmasters, then everyone visiting this place more or less regularly and concerned about this, would have found out and read the several threads about it already. Im not going to explain it again, maybe someone else will, or you can just read the posts made on ICANNs site already or check out the FSC site. |

Post what YOU think about .XXX I dont' like the idea of using a form letter or template... better to have you express your feelings on the subject, rather than using some else's words. The words you could use could contain: ".XXX is a bad idea. .KIDS TLD is a better way to protect kids" Fight the putting of words in your mouth! |
email sent!!!! :)

Ironically, the spammers that send thousands of emails can't send one single email to oppose .xxx ... and tomorrow their spam will be worthless. Not that most want and like spam, but it makes you think, doesn't it? :upsidedow

i can't wait... i already have reserves on http://www.sex.xxx

At this point and for the last year, there is not one single adult webmaster that has not learned or heard about .XXX. Its in AVN, Its in XBIZ, It's been in the mainstream news numerous times in Print and The Net and in Mainstream broadcast.
The concept that adult webmasters are not aware of .XXX is naive. The concept that apathy has taken hold and they are to lazy to post something is again... naive. That oughtah speak volumes about what the industry as a whole wants and will get. I involved myself rather deeply with the subject with well over 2000 posts on this forum alone and several others. At the end of it all I oppose .XXX but I know the out come as I have said for two years. .XXX will be a reality for the simple reason that our community is loaded with retards and lazy morons that are seldomly if ever on the same page. The "Anti Establishment", "Misfit" factor will always rule this community and make it easy pray for not only things like .XXX but numerous things to come and the proof is the numerous things that have already passed. I speak from experience and pride myself in knowing the nature of the scumbags that rule over others in this industry. You are fucking victims waiting to be taken advantage of. Too stupid to realise you are being eaten alive while trying to corner a couple bucks for yerselves in any manor possible. |
I forgot to add that the only reason .XXX will pass is solely decided by money.
Money is rdy to create .xxx. No Money is rdy to stop it. What I mean is that the inaction is purely based on the fact that there is NO MONEY in taking action opposing it. Give people 30 bucks to write up somthing to oppose it and then the matter would change significantly. But really thats impossible, there is no real return investment to be made from doing such on an individual level. |
Just emailed them Fuckers!
