It's about time for a new cold war :thumbsup |
I like sechuan (szechuan?) hot&spicy food.

Copper & oil in south america.....scrap metal from the u.s., manhole covers are dissapearing because crackheads find it to be the new boom, (it used to be copper plumbing fixtures under your house). Now trying to take over american oil businesses to push up the oil prices on us :1orglaugh Trust me, the yellow hoard is on its way (for those of you who have read the bible) |
No new Cold Wars, but the US shouldn't be letting China grow like it is. I definitely don't agree with the foreign policy towards China. I mean, why is the US allowing China to buy US companies? It isn't like another company is buying it out, a country is. Isn't this against what the US stands for? This definitely has to be stopped or it can result in trouble down the road.

About to go to bed now I am scared :Oh crap
|
that's good news for Yaong Ming. LoL
|
what do you mean the US shouldn't allow them to buy companies?
If they want to buy a company, good for them. I am not pro-chinese. Actually I kind of dislike them, but I hope that another country, even if it's China, takes over the world and teaches fucking Bush that he doesn't own the planet. |

I do not see anytime soon this world being run by a single country. I think that someone will end up capping the head idiot in the US because of the things he is doing.

China will not invade USA, there are not many resources left in the USA. They might buy up companies but there's no point invading................ |
A group of friends and I very lightly looked into opening a Lamborghini factory dealership in Shanghai, but China's hilarious "regulations" regarding foreign businesses killed it immediately. We thought we were going to reinvent the wheel after doing some demographic research on China's burgeoning wealthy class...as well as their incredible upper-middle class, which by 2020 will exceed the United States in size if you can imagine that.
Come to think of it, China is like a human TGP in action....all volume, but enough raw numbers that it eventually overwhelms every other competitor. In short, the Chinese Government decides on so many variables when you set up shop over there that you lose taste in the pursuit of it. The biggest hurdle though was the fact that they demanded 51% State ownership in the business, and majority control. This apparantly is the deal even with large corporations doing work over there, Nokia, Nike, etc. You're basically a minority partner. But it's all your money at risk.... :) That, and stories of former "partners" of the "State" being forced out of their 49% position killed it. |

China third in the world in total mineral reserves. China is rich in mineral resources, and all the world's known minerals can be found here. To date, geologists have confirmed reserves of 153 different minerals, putting China third in the world in total reserves. Proven reserves of energy sources include coal, petroleum, natural gas, and oil shale; and radioactive minerals include uranium and thorium. China's coal reserves total 1,007.1 billion tons, mainly distributed in north China, with Shanxi and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region taking the lead. Petroleum reserves are mainly in northwest and also in northeast China, north China and the continental shelves in east China. Proven reserves of ferrous metals include iron, manganese, vanadium and titanium. China's 45.9 billion tons of iron ore are mainly distributed in northeast, north and southwest China. The Anshan-Benxi Area in Liaoning, east Hebei, and Panzhihua in Sichuan are major iron producers. China has the world's largest reserves of tungsten, tin, antimony, zinc, molybdenum, lead, mercury and other nonferrous metals; its reserves of rare earth metals far exceed the total for the rest of the world. http://www.china-window.com/china_br...resource.shtml |

Looks like they better invade Australia, they have more minerals than USA :winkwink:
There are about 185 nations in the world from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, but the world's ores and other minerals are not spread evenly among them. A few years ago a think-tank studied the global distribution of 15 metals with important uses. It found that: Just 16 nations hold 87 percent of the world's reserves based on value; Just 5 hold almost 60 percent; And that the United States was third among the five. The Soviet Union was first, holding all 15. But that union has been dissolved. The resources were divided among new states of untested stability and uncertain experience with free markets. Second was Australia, a continent, with 13. The United States has 12 of the 15 metals. http://www.nma.org/newsroom/speeches_pop/112801.html |

However bad Bush and co are, they're still not as bad as China. If there is a counter balance to US power i'd prefer a militarised EU.

I love Chinese Food & Chinese Women.... bring it on. L$ |
I don't think the United States will let China take over any country in the area. With the United States' crusade against tyranny and opression, why would the US allow China to take a country over? The US wouldn't even have to step in with its military, all it would have to do is stop all trade with the communist nation and it would start sinking from there. I doubt any other countries would keep trading with China after the US says not to, the US is just too powerful economically to lose for countries that would think of trading with China.

The same goes for india & pakistan The simple fact is, their growing too fast for EARTH to keep up with. And modern medicine isn't helping anything. I think we need a good dose of airborn aids, about 1.5% of the population of the world is immune to aids naturally. We need to start over & keep the history books in stock for the next generation. We're done! |
i don't think this 2 great countries would fight. they would never do things that would create wars.

China is the only thing that is keeping down inflation. Stop trading with China and you will see Walmart go out of business. You will also be paying 10X for your socks, underwear and everything else. :winkwink: |

Although, China is still in the midst of initiating a decentralization policy (if that hadn't already) and to transition to a stronger market economy. |

Boeing Projects $197 Billion Market for New Airplanes in China The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] detailed its 2003 Current Market Outlook (CMO) for the People's Republic of China today, forecasting a requirement in China for nearly 2,400 new jet airplanes worth $197 billion over the next 20 years. China's airlines will add 1,960 new airplanes to serve domestic markets including Hong Kong and Macau. Nearly 440 new airplanes will be added by China's airlines to provide international service. Regional jets and single-aisle airplanes will account for 87 percent of the airplanes delivered to serve the domestic market. More than 560 intermediate-size, twin-aisle airplanes will be delivered to serve both domestic and international markets. By 2022, Chinese carriers will be flying more than 2,850 passenger and cargo airplanes, making China's fleet the largest outside of the United States. In fact, China's commercial jet fleet will quadruple in size over the next twenty years. In 2022, single-aisle airplanes will remain the core of China's fleet, representing nearly two-thirds of the total. Ten percent of the units in the 2022 fleet will be small and intermediate-size regional jets. Another 22 percent will be intermediate-size, twin-aisle airplanes, and just four percent will be 747-size and larger. The need for new airplanes is required to support a 7.1 percent annual increase in air travel in China from 2003 to 2022, compared to the world average of 5.1 percent. Travel growth for key traffic flows involving China include: China to: Growth China (domestic) 8.4% North America 5.0% Asia-Pacific 4.9% Europe 5.4% "China is one of the fastest growing markets in the world for commercial aviation," said Randy Baseler, vice president of Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "China's 20-year Gross Domestic Product (GDP) forecast is 6.2 percent -- the highest in the world, and Boeing projects that domestic air travel growth will outpace the GDP growth over the next two decades." The Boeing forecast estimates the world fleet will more than double by 2022 to a total fleet size of 34,000 airplanes. In the same forecast period, 5,890 airplanes will be retired from active commercial service and replaced. During the next 20 years, airlines will take delivery of more than 24,000 airplanes worth $1.9 trillion in 2002 US dollars. The full forecast is available at www.boeing.com/commercial/cmo. |
