One thing China lacks severly is precision machinery and technology, so they have to buy it from everyone else. They have tried constantly to get into industries that require tight tolerance machinery and fail miserably.

At one point they had a big plan of building jet engines and taking over the market. For a moment it looked scary because they were actually producing jet engines that looked exactly like American and European built engines at a fraction of the cost.

The problem is that they explode after a few runs into a million pieces.

Haliburton decided to outsource part of their machining work to China a few years ago.
That lasted about 2 months before they realized that the Chinese just cannot build quality parts.
Slowly China has scrapped all precision machining plans and now they are back to buying.
This alone has China at a huge disadvantage.

World War Three will be the US vs China. While we might have the cool gagets, China will bury us in numbers. When China invades the US mainland, well, it will all be over then.

China does not now...and will never have...just as no other country will ever have the ability to invade the mainland. No Navy can assemble enough ships to invade when the country being invaded possesses nukes in the numbers that the US has. If any major all out war was to be fought between China and the US it will not be a land war.

China can't take over the whole world. They don't want all of it.

I think the idea of government owning business is a damn good one. Think about it, if a government owns a business, or even part of it, they get some of the profits. As a result, taxes stay lower, and the country doesnt have a deficit the size of fat alberts ass. Except of course in instances like the Bush family where they just up the taxes for more money on top of the amount they're already making...any assassins out there looking for work?

Before China will ever get into position to fight with US or at least consider it, it will require to take over most of east-asian countries, once it will put its focus on Jap, India or Russia you will know there might be a treat. w/o rulling asia it won't do much.
a fact that US doing world policing is also considered a possible treat to some other countries so they must take measures for a defence.
