First off, How do you know they havent helped out? Theyre obviously stuck there from vacation, and maybe just taking a break.

Most of The countries survive on tourism, they are practicaly begging people who have holidays booked to come it it's at all possible and spend as much as they can.

That's so sad, especially the two that are having beer on the beach. I don't think that's normal behavior.

exactly! while i personally don't think i would be able to sunbathe there at this moment, the tourism is what keeps the survivors working and the economy afloat.

Mind you - it makes you wonder about those that'd want a holiday there and could relax with all that around them. But then like someone else said, it could also be relief workers taking a couple of hours break.

OH well they keep saying that they need the tourism now more then ever. Its still awful to look at pictures like that.

In the end this massive influx of foreign aid will be just as devastating to their economy as the tsunami itself. Sad, but true.

Well actually I saw on the news that thier governments were encouraging tourists to come. The tourism industry is about the only thing that keeps thier economy going and they said that 98% of their hotels/resorts were up and running so tourists should not shy away.
