FAT to FIT... a thread to save your life! (pics)
Here's the deal... I'd like to share my success story with you, and hopefully help some of the overweight webmasters here at GFY. Only thing I ask in return is that you check out my sig... Ok, on with it already...
Fat to Fit... Diet, exercise, and a new way of life... There will be no easy answers in this thread, no fly by night diets etc... this is a lifestyle change that will effect everything you do. I lost over 100 lbs in less then 1 year... pics below... Anyway... Here's the basics. If you'd like further info on any specific detail, lmk and I'll enlighten you. Bottom line, if your healthy... you'll live longer, look better, FEEL better, be more productive, and MAKE MORE MONEY!!! no shit! Here's the rundown... Change your diet! Eat clean. This means no fast food, fried shit, BEER(switch to liquer), or things high in sugar. Easiest way to do this is to prepare your meals... Chicken or Fish and broccoli is the mother of all meals... keep that mentality. Proteins, complex carbs, and fiber should be the building blocks of your diet... and you need all of them daily. Next, learn portion control... Cup your hands together as if you would drink from a pool of water. See how much you could fit in there??? That's 1 meal portion! A typical restaurant lunch/dinner plate will have roughly 2-3 portions. Learn to leave food on your plate, or take leftovers to eat later... Now that you've learned portion control... We don't want you to starve yourself, so eat a meal every 3 hours! Eat less more often and you'll crank your metabolism to full blast! It takes roughly 3 hours to digest 1 meal ( suggested portion ). This forces your body to constantly be digesting, thus burning more calories. Think of it this way... If you throw a huge log on a fire it will take hours to burn up and not give off much heat at all. However if you put a bunch of little sticks on the fire, it will burn hot and fast. Your metabolism works the same way with food! Next... Drink water!!! put the soda down, and attempt to drink 2 gallons of water a day! Ok, this concludes the first lesson... "Diet and portion control" here's my pics... http://www.i-ventures.net/fat2fit/1.jpg http://www.i-ventures.net/fat2fit/2.jpg http://www.i-ventures.net/fat2fit/3.jpg next lesson... "Calories IN vs Calories OUT!" and remember... see sig!:winkwink: Ok, now I'm open for questions... :glugglug |
Ya gotta eat more to score....

Congrats!!! 100pounds??? WOW!!!
On the diet that I learned as a trainer which is exactly the same as the one that you advised - I lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks. My secret: Work out consistently - not sporatically - because then you tell your body what kind of lifestyle to expect and it gets rid of extra fat it doesn't need to carry around. But, I have to TOTALLY agree with you on the diet - I'm loosing 5 pounds a week just from eating like what you described. Congrats again on your HUGE success. |
Thanks everyone!
I do have a diet plan and exersise routine that I'd be happy to share. :thumbsup give me a few min to type something up. :glugglug |
congrats, that is some kickass results :thumbsup

Usually, I'll have a "Vinti" BLACK coffee from starbucks every morning after breakfast. Then a sugar free redbull before I workout. Caffeine is a safe way to raise your heart rate, thus burning calories while sitting in front of your pc. It can also give you that extra "push" in the gym! Drink soda for your caffeine and you'll be taking 1 step forward and 3 back... I almost exclusively drink water/coffee/iced tea/sugar-free redbull.:glugglug |
Congratulations man

If you want to loose the weight and keep it off, appetite suppression/starvation is not the way. Throughout this thread I will show you how to drop the fat, and keep it off. It's not the easy way though... This is going to take a lifestyle change. I'll post some diet/ exercise info here in a sec... While I'm typing, this will give you a perfect opportunity to check out my signature!:winkwink: :glugglug |

Ben:
I weighed 290lbs in January of this year. In april I took ahold of myself, started eating better and lost 50 lbs. I am now at 240. But I have completely leveled out. And if I have lots of sugar one day or eat something unhealthy BOOM I put on weight like that, 3 days in a row of slightly poor eating and I gain like 10 lbs. Obviously this is normal I guess. What I am hoping to do is take in a bit healthier of a diet and figure out some sort of a work out plan that fits my lifestyle. I am assuming you and I have the same sort of sit around lifestyle. If we could chat about it I would UBER appreciate your time. I can use any help you can give me. :glugglug |
I need to lose some weight myself. I am 6'4 320lbs. I was 180lbs 4 years ago but I got into a nearly fatal car wreck and it really fucked my world up. I play full court basketball frequently so I am not in the worst shape or health but I need to get more poontang.

Here's some help on eating "clean"... I'll add a list of foods you CAN eat later.:thumbsup
Some shocking things "THEY" don't want you to know... HFCS ( High Fructose Corn Syrup ) is a "super sugar" that can be found 3/4 of the packaged items found at the market. It's biggest hideout is "Fat-Free" items and near all baked goods. While fructose can naturally be broken down by the body in moderation, high fructose corn syrup cannot. It's a manufactured form of fructose that was designed to save food company's money because of it's extremely low cost. Problem is, it's the easiest sugar for our body to convert into fat.... and it's in almost EVERYTHING! Here's how to cut it out of your diet. READ LABELS! Look for organic foods/breads/cereals that do not contain HFCS. Usually organic brands will replace the HFCS with honey or regular sugar that your body can break down and use for energy. Simply think natural... If it's not a fresh food, don't eat it. If it comes in a package or bag... don't eat it. EAT FRESH FOOD! Buy lot's of meats, vegies, dairy products, etc... The food manufactures are the enemy.... they are not looking out for your health. They choose products such as HFCS and tran's fat's to save money, preserve shelf life, and artificially improve taste. Now onto TRAN'S FAT'S.... this stuff is by far the most evil thing invented. There are four kinds of fats: monounsaturated fat, polyunsaturated fat, saturated fat, and trans fat. Monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat are the "good" fats. There is a conflict of opinion about saturated fat, but the majority opinion is that consumption of saturated fat should be kept low. Trans fat from partially hydrogenated vegetable oils is very bad, much worse than saturated fat. Basically, tran's fat's are another manufactured evil from the food industry to save costs and improve shelf life... Problem is, it's reducing human life! They literally take regular fat's and TRANSform them into Tran's fats. A good example would be Oil to Crisco. With the fat transformed, it can now be added into all kinds of foods to "lock flavor in". Making foods taste buttery and delicious no matter how long they have been on the shelf. Regular fats would grease up manufactures packaging in a matter of weeks from just natural separation. Tran's fats do not separate. How do you stay away from them? Well... once again look for organic foods, or prepare fresh food yourself. Sure, it might be harder this way, and your foods may spoil faster, but your doing this for good health. If you wanted convenience... you'd look like every other overweight American. Simply put.... STAY AWAY from anything that says... High Fructose Corn Syrup , partially hydrogenated, or shortening. These products are basically a reverse lypo-suction. :glugglug |
100 pounds is an awesome accomplishment, congratulations! :thumbsup
I'd be interested to hear about the stats. What is your height, and before/after weight? The pics are great - do you have a clearer after pic? Especially of your face area? Great job, seriously! |

Congrats to you! Losing weight is not easy. You look awesome, in fact, you don't even look like the same person. WTG

If you haven't looked at my HFCS & Trans fat post... check it out. You may be taking in bad foods and not even know it. In regards to taking a few days off... eating poor 2-3 meals in a row... Here's the deal. You need to set a routine. 1 day a week allow yourself to cheat. Eat anything/drink anything you want for one or two meals out of the day. The rest of the week you absolutely must eat clean though! No if's and's or buts. You'll get so used to eating healthy it will come second nature. Now here's the crazy part... Because you'll be eating clean ( will post clean foods later ) all week. Low cal/ low fat / high fiber / etc... When you do have your cheat day, your body will be in shock from all the extra calories, thus burning 2x as hard then normal. You may even loose weight immediately after a cheat day... THIS ONLY WORKS IF YOU'VE BEEN EATING CLEAN THOUGH! Brad, I'm going to field some of these other questions real quick... but hold tight! I'll be posting some more general info that will apply to you.:thumbsup :glugglug |
Great info, heard it all before, but nice to see it condensed and personalized. You don't look 100 lbs overweight in the before shot.
|
Congratulations man, I hope you'll keep this thread going and share more of your experience :thumbsup
|
congrats
|
Im still waiting on that cock pic Ben ;)
Regards, Lee |
