here is the situation....

some crack head in epic mail decided to send us thousands of hotmail addresses in the epic mail program....

so obvoisly this isnt genral traffic, this is him mailing hotmail addresses getting them to optin to our list...

now a smart guy would wonder...

why is he sending them to a .75 program and not sending them to a $30 a join program right?

i would think because these emails are complete shit and they dont buy anything...


so what do i do?

boot him, unless you can make money off emails

Is he sending the traffic from a specific site, or is he spamming linkcodes?

Do you have individual IPs for each address?

we no longer give credit on hotmail..

but anyone who mailes knows hotmail is a nightmare to mail to.. and are useless to me.. they ban ip's after 2 complaints.

why send to a .75 program and not to a pps program paying $30 a join? if the emails are good, and he can get into hotmail np.. then why the hells end to a .75 program...

hotmail has some dam good filters...

i have already taken this point into account..

but i can NOT ignore the fact he clearly sent us crap emails knowing they are worthless.. or he would have mailed paysites and made 10 times more.

I'd talk 2 him and tell him about hotmail. offer him 15% see what he thinks you can always go up don't start out 2 high though.

one possible explanation
he is spamming hotmail account and use a bp hosting
those who sign-up throught are legit, but you cant mail into hotmail
maybe check the referrer and it might explain you everything
or better, ask him is apache log to be paid

if he broke no rules, and the homail addresses are legit, i think you need to pay him. then change your script so that hotmail addresses arent accepted and let your affiliates know. when do you credit to the affiliate, when the address is entered, or when they click on a confirm link in the email?

Just pay me. I had my entire Church group join from their hotmail accounts. :(

when the member logs into the members area is when affiliates get credit...

i think i have it worked out with him...

50% payment ($3500)
and he gets all our hotmails and msn's and mails us with them and gets paid $25 a join

doesn't sound like they are OPTED IN to me...... spamming to opt in isn't what opt in email programs are supposed to be.

yea rules are rules i totally agree. but someone tries to decieve you knowing something is worthless and sends it to you.. there is an ethics issue that comes up.

it's your fault that you did not stop him after a couple hundred emails. it's your fault he doesn't know hotmail is not allowed. this is your program, not his. pay the man, asshole.

ask for the stats and logs of the site sending the mails.

traffic and logs is the only way you can figure it out.

$7k worth of hotmail addresses, all confirmed, all unique IPs. you cannot sell to hotmail addresses so you don't want to pay him. what am I missing?
