Started on Atkins diet today...
For breakfast I had 5 eggs, 4 steaks Tartar, a pack of cheese and a salami. Somehow I doubt that this "diet" works but hey I'll give it a shot and my fatso guts is loving it :)
Gotta lose like 5-10 kilos (11-22 lbs) :( |
so whats the big idea about atkins diet? can somebody give me the summary?

It just asks you to LIMIT the amount of carbs you intake..especially during the first 2-3 weeks of the diet, so your body will start burning fat instead of carbs. Besides the high fat concentration, it has..umm..my tired mind can't think of the scientific name for it..but "bad stuff" (haha) that's very bad for the body. Unless it's free range that is. |

Atkins, like other Ketogenic diets, will put your body into Ketosis if done correctly (body uses fat as fuel instead of carbs).
What most people don't understand is that going on a diet like this is a LIFESTYLE change. You have to keep doing it forever for if you stop, your body will go out of Ketosis and you will gain weight fast. |

my mom and sister both used Atkins and have lost about 100lbs each. it definitely works. but you can't go back to eating normally...it is an eating change that you must keep for the rest of your life. otherwise the pounds just pour back on. Good luck!
