Evolution or Creation?
It's amusing to me that there are still those out there who, in spite of all the evidence, still try and deny the reality of natural selection and evolution.
So fess up, have you joined the 21st century yet or are you still living in the dark ages? Creation or evolution... what's your view? |
if you are referring to that crazy ass woman hating story of adam and eve and how evil eve hooked up with the snake to poison adams mind... then i vote for evolution not "evilution" :thumbsup
|
its funny how they refuse to accept the FACTS
its not a "maybe", its PROVEN that we evolved from the chimp some people should open their eyes |
Could it be both?
Since there are no specifics in the bible? |

If you believe in some creator, obviously no one can prove that either. Thus the whole statement on joining the 21st century is null and void =) |

evolution....though I remember getting in trouble in sunday school when I asked why it wasn't possible for things to have been created and then be allowed to evolve.

It was better when people worshipped the Sun. At least the sun is there you can see it, and without it there would be no life on earth.

Can't leave that possibility out :) |

I think it's a combination of both. I don't believe everything from the Bible, it was written by man and has human error. I also don't believe everything scientists say, because they are also humans with error and a lot of what they say has missing pieces.
Maybe I am just hopeful that there is a God, but if we evolved from apes, why are there no apes as intelligent as humans? That would be like a woman giving birth to a species more advanced than humans. Is that possible? |
Quote:
We didn't evolve from modern apes. Rather, both humans and other modern primates have evolved from a common ancestor that lived millions of years ago. All species are subject to different selective pressures and this accounts for the divergence. Before you speak any more on this subject you should go here and educate yourself: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/li...faq/index.html |

Can a woman give birth to a child more intelligent than herself? Yes. Can that child - if it's a girl - give birth to a more intelligent child than herself? Yes. Etcetera. Now, repeat this process endlessly. (and no, this is in no way taking into account even a small part of all factors in evolution, it's just an example to show how a dumb parent can ancestor a genious kid, in other words, a more advanced kid) Oh, and as for why there are no apes as intelligent as humans: there are. Humans. Why there are no other apes as intelligent as humans? Pure luck. One has to be the smartest, and it happens to be us. |

As long as we have shows like Springer we can reverse the evoluton process.
|
it's confusing cause there's the Scientific evidences!

To be honest, I was raised Catholic and never even heard of evolution until I was a teenager. So I really don't know much about it to consider myself an expert on the subject. I am not an expert on God or the Bible either... all I know, is that I believe there is something or someone, behind everything that has evolved. I plan on studying more about evolution and the theory of God... I find it fascinating but I like to form my own opinions and not just be convinced by what the Bible or science says. They are both biased, even with all the substantial evidence science has... I think there is more to it all. :)
|
Both.
Ever think about that? |
Quote:
Anyways. I really don't know. I'm no scientist, and i'm no theologist. I believe in some kind of god, i'm just not sure what. I also believe that evolution has played a great part in the way the world is. But other than that, i really don't care that much. |
Quote:
Also, you say you 'know' but how do you 'know'? How could you be so certain of something for which no evidence exists? Do you know something the rest of us don't? :1orglaugh |
Quote:
This subject comes down to belief and NOT facts, anyone that believes its a open shut case has done any research and has just sucked in all the bullshit they got force feed from school & tv. |

So you're basically saying that careful studying of the information available is less valid than a 2,000 year old piece of text that has absolutely no proof for it's statements nor any foundation in logic? |

the reason I believe in evolution is because it makes sense to me... "BAM I WANT TO CREATE THE HUMAN" doesnt my bioligy teacher told me a story once: Long time ago, before the industrial revolution, 99.9% of the butterflies in certain regions were white. They were able to hide on the white branch trees while the black ones were left to die. When the industrial revolution came, the amount of "coal" (or something) was so much that it covered all the trees, therefore making the white butterflies defenceless... A few years later, 99.9% of the butterflies were black. this only makes us that evolution is a part of survival, and that "the common ancestor" could have evolved into us to be able to see further (posture), to have his hands completely liberated (Standing up), to communicate (language), etc... that makes sense to me |

When it comes to the evolution theory there is still one major problem with it that as far as I know has never been explained away.
