DatingGold.com PPL Ripoff

I had a few users tell me that they signed up with my AFF link and I kept refreshing the stats page for hours with no signups..

I started digging around and read that you only get paid for male users and since there is no "Gender" in the signup process something looked suspicious..

well It looks as if you only get paid if you refer a users and he signups and obviously confirming the email, but then going into profile edit settings and set gender to male.. which is completely retarded or just plain scam.

>>This program is restricted to US, Canada, UK and Australia male users only.
a signup should show immediateness after confirming the email and not after going into settings and making changes..

adulttraffic 05-21-2013 04:22 PM

Sounds like a great scam to me! Just a way for them to shave off leads. Good find!

Fat Panda 05-21-2013 04:23 PM

doesnt sound good

LRS 05-21-2013 04:26 PM

check it out for yourself..

>webcamclub.com/register.php

I dont see no Gender anywhere.. and no wonder I have't had any PPL for the past month

Your correct.. It dosent ask for gender for webcamclub however xxxdating did on the 2nd page of their join up process.

spiederman 05-21-2013 04:31 PM

im getting the popcorn!

LRS 05-21-2013 04:33 PM

I'm promoting the PPL from the webcam they have..

half hour ago I asked my friend that lives in Texas in the US to signup with my aff code and to set gender to male.. still no signup in my stats page..

spiederman 05-21-2013 04:34 PM

signups are in motion

LRS 05-21-2013 04:35 PM

maybe you have to add a credit card on file to count as PPL?

adulttraffic 05-21-2013 04:36 PM

Once you login you must click on the profile text link in the menu on left of the page.
And then you can select your gender. I tried to edit my account by clicking on the account icon located on the top menu. Dident do anything when clicked. Probably will confuse members.

Not sure.. But I see exactly whats hes saying. Other sites ask for gender during the actual sign up process. Webcamclub does not, forcing users to update the account so he can get paid.

LRS 05-21-2013 04:40 PM

adulttraffic, even after setting the gender can you confirm that you got a new signup? it looks like it works sometimes only..

I'm not testing under a affiliate link, so I cant tell you. Just confirming the join up process for you.

AK 05-21-2013 04:48 PM

hey there, someone linked me to this thread and my first reaction would be to know if you have tried to talk to us about your issues.
we have Tofu as our dedicated cam rep and he's not even sure what was going on.
would you mind giving me your account so we can look into it?

Thanks

Webcamclub leads arent based on a profile setting. Let me get your username
or at least answer my ICQ. Nice of you to reach out before posting and getting
people stirred up, BTW...

Pink Misfit 05-21-2013 04:58 PM

I been using dating gold for years and never had problems tracking leads for any of their websites. If there was a glitch it eventually caught up or was fixed. Should have had them check your account! I love DG!

LRS 05-21-2013 04:59 PM

pointing out this issue to cam reps would fix the issue indeed.

I feel like I have been betrayed by this company and therefore I don't care about fixing issues anymore.. once someone steals from me I don't do business with them anymore.

please fix your cam scam so other users that don't know about this can honestly get paid..

Since you don't care about fixing any issues with us, would you at least tell me your account so we can actually say here what happens?

I don't think stating that on our terms that we only pay for male is a scam.

Not playing dumb, but would it be too much if I ask you to provide your affiliate account with us?

At this point, I understand that you're NEVER going to send us any traffic, but I think we do have the right to know if you actually did send traffic and your friends did sign up with us and are legit users.

Sure u're helping the others by warning them about this, but why didn't you want to provide us with your account?

If you read the blackhat forums you will see that most suggest avoiding adult dating at all costs. They suggest casual dating instead because either adult dating converts 10 times worse or they will say that they outright skim/shave. These sort of claims picked up quite a bit in early 2012. I'm not speaking of DG but the whole industry. This is the buzz. Take it or leave it.

I'm already risking getting banned by saying this kind of thing. It's not against the rules technically but shit happens. Search Google for "blackhat dating shave" or "blackhat dating skim". You'll see a lot. :upsidedow

I'm on that forum and some of the skype groups and the top reason I
see that they won't deal with us is because we don't accept a lot of the
various traffic sources that some of those guys come to us with.

I'm not challenging you, BTW. Just from my personal lurking.

Well if they are using certain blackhat techniques that is a risk they have to take. :2 cents:

lol.. all good :thumbsup

nothing against blackhat forum , why is it called black hat?

you wont be getting banned for saying that, ure not accusing anybody.

I wish LRS would just give us his account so we can see how he's got his Friends signing up for a PPL knowing that they have no intention to buy the service.

you think it's fair for sponsors to pay for fake leads?

we recently caught few affiliates that were sending us fake signups, I hope he is not of of those affiliates.

as of this writing, we are still waiting for his account info.

I've found that because of the way blackhats do things they can often tell who is cheating. It's ironic but it's often very good information. Honest webmasters have a harder time knowing who is a cheat and I think some exploit that.

I believe I've seen LRS around in other places. I don't have the impression of him being someone who would cheat you. Although I wouldn't doubt if a webmaster did a test or two themselves or with some friends. That's not really cheating. That's called a test. Unless you do it all the time.

I'm not surprised that he doesn't want to give account information. Many sponsors would instantly attack someone making this type of post by suing them or persecuting them in some way. For example by calling them a cheater. It's a common tactic. The way I see it either the claims are true or they aren't. It doesn't matter who he is beyond establishing credibility. And I can see what I need from his past posts.

Surely you've heard of a test join. God knows I would double check. Bit of a lame angle your trying to play there regardless.

Whats the point of him giving you his account? The question is if you count a lead when the user manually changes the gender in his profile. This is not difficult to understand.

except answering the questions in this thread?

pr0phet 05-21-2013 09:34 PM

Yeah so what is the answer? When is the affiliate paid?

I feel the need to test my own account at this point.

LRS 05-21-2013 10:16 PM

I guess their system is extremely smart that it knows your gender since there is no option for it.. ohh wait its not smart enough to count real leads.. so besides verifying the account which in my books is just verifying the email address what else do users need to do? drivers license, credit card on file or what?
