Look like Like whoa is sputtering again, went down, now it's back up kinda. :disgust

RedShoe 12-02-2002 03:44 PM

down for me, right now. :(

Madball 12-02-2002 03:46 PM

Ray@TastyDollars 12-02-2002 03:52 PM

I icq NOC this morning, told him I felt the server was a little slow . He said "weird, loads very fast for me" ,heheh

I never complained before, I always stood by Like Whoa, but this is getting quit tiresome :(

Down for me right now.

x582 12-02-2002 03:53 PM

It is getting very annoying now. My sites are slow as shit - I have paid listing on TheHun and some places... What a waste of money today! My movies won't even downlad at 15k/s.

It's been very unstable for about a month - and since 2 weeks it's seriously weak.

Oooh - and the NOC isn't on ICQ. Probably their ICQ wasn't capable of handling all their clients complaining. haha!

Anyway, hope they fix their shit soon.

Edit: not down, but coming in slower than usual. Might just be an ISP routing issue.

sherbert 12-02-2002 03:55 PM

Soul Cash is down, All Liquid is down also.

Maybe Soul Cash should consider getting a new host, their sites have been slow for me all week. I put some links up earlertoday but now I'll take them down, it is not good sending visitors to a can't connect page when they have a credit card in their hand already maybe to join.

It also sucks when my graphic intense free sites loads faster than Soul Cash pay sites.

RedShoe 12-02-2002 03:56 PM

ok, current status: Was down... then came back but took over two minutes to load a 12K gif, and text link... then went down... then cam back on with same 2 minute load time... now went back down again.

X37375787 12-02-2002 03:57 PM

:disgust

Madball 12-02-2002 03:59 PM

Getting 912 byte/sec download speed on my trailers now.

Had 20-30 k/s slow transfers all day. Tech support said all was well, right.

gleem 12-02-2002 04:00 PM

I am sure they will say it's because they are bringing the "Dark fiber optics" online or something like that. :1orglaugh

This is bad... I'm moving to Five-Elements till this clears up.

[The Leader] 12-02-2002 04:08 PM

Why anyone sticks with a host after multiple instances of downtime is beyond me.

Do yourself a favor: he.net

Urbi 12-02-2002 04:09 PM

While I have never hosted with Five-E, I can confirm that their tech department has a high reading on their clue-meter, unlike certain other hosts that are in the topic...

Snake Doctor 12-02-2002 04:10 PM

I always wondered why they decided to go with that name.
Its like valley girl marketing.

Steve 12-02-2002 04:17 PM

Hurricane Electric? No shit, I started out on them about a billion years ago. They raped my ass with overage fees. Of course, I had no clue about image compression, and was making sites with 400Kb pics right off the CDs :1orglaugh

Yeah they tried to rape me too until you started laughing at me for using them! hhhehe...

They tried to bill me to death -- those people drink too much caffine.

RedShoe 12-02-2002 04:21 PM

Like Whoa hosts all my personal sites... well kinda.

Swift Communications has always hosted CollegeFuckFest, and tripleXcash. http://swiftco.net

They have always been fast as hell, and reliable. We do a lot of fucking business with them.

Hit him up right now and switch over for a special deal. They said they would help anyone that's running into problems with Like Whoa.

Get in on this while you can. No offense Like Whoa. Business is business, and Swiftco, just made me an offer on 100% Global Crossing, that I can't refuse.

Hit him up.

Hey now, we buy he.net pipe.

Just transit though, far removed from their hosting side of the shop.

thehun.net hosts there as well...

Hey,

Just a note about internetseer stats. It's a decent tool for determining uptime, or service degradation (usually), but using it's metric of "average connect time 0.19 secs" to compare to other hosts is a bad metric to use... That number will depend a lot on operating system-operating system quirks, their software, their physical location, and their network characteristics. it is entirely possible for them to have a worse metric for a better carrier.

I'm not saying anything about swiftco one way or another (honestly, I've never heard of them). Just letting you know it's a bad metric to use.

Another example of a metric people throw around a lot that they don't understand. Fixedorbit... just because it says someone has say, 10 connections. It doesn't mean they only have 10, they may have plenty more. It shows what fixedorbit can see from it's location, and public route servers. If, for example though, it says someone has one connection, it's pretty unlikely they have connectivity from anyone else, but, in some cases they do. In any case, it's really unlikely they have "lots" of connections.

In like whoa's case, for example. They have Yipes and Network Plus, even though fixed orbit only shows yipes.

i dont understand, do they want to lose customers?
why havent they posted what is going on the last few days.. or have they?
i fell asleep for 3 days after thanksgiving.

Hooper 12-02-2002 04:56 PM

We had a few servers with likewhoa and dropped them some time ago.

I make no money off of it, but we have used http://www.mach10hosting.com for years now and really have had less than 1 hour of downtime per year. they are fantastic, reasonably priced and have very high quality bandwidth.
