Is The U.S. Turning Into Europe?

Wait a minute. Oil & Gas prices, rising unemployment, terrorism, techno/trance music, socialistic illegal immigrant programs that wear the average citizen down.

Are we turning into Europe?

GonePhishing 01-18-2004 11:29 AM

Well... Not until we have national health care.

ryph 01-18-2004 11:31 AM

Well I guess I can't argue with most of that, but trance/techno? I'm preety sure that fad passed a few years back along with e.

Golly gosh Webby, we can't have healthcare in the U.S.! People might get healthy and not run up ridiculously high hospital bills!

Insurance companies would crash. That would leave no excess capital for the govt. to borrow against to pay off the exorbitant costs of protecting us from harm.

r0oster 01-18-2004 11:52 AM

Europe owns the United States.

And always will.

That's just the way the world is.

$10 a pack is wack. I don't even like paying $6.14 over here.

But really, the US treats gasoline like it's water. The hybrid electric cars really should be the standard in this day and age.

If you are being sick in the USA, say diabetes, how do you being treated and where to turn?

Well, if you get sick in the U.S.A. and you're not wealthy, you're fucked.

UNLESS you're a felony offender in a prison, or an illegal alien immigrant.

If you're a taxpaying citizen who obeys the law you're too much in debt to pay for medical attention so your best bet is to leave the country, enter illegally, commit felony and do 3 years in a prison where your optical and dental are paid for by everbody else who is too stupid to do what you just did. You can also get a college degree too!

Let' see them do THAT in one of them famous Russian Gulags.

We're the USA, we do crime like KFC does chicken...RIGHT.

Sheesh.. there are loads of stupid folks around! :-) This has denegrated into some "US V Europe" shit with wild statements hahahahahaded.

As a matter of record, there is a severe US problem in this world, not just with Europe. This ranges from a series of very bad "relationships" to a totally fucked economy, which, in a few short years, other nations will own 40% of the total US economy.

As for Europe.. "Someone told me a pack of Marlboros goes for like $10 a pack in Europe." .. Well.. they lied. But sure ain't far off $10 a pack!!! :winkwink:

I doubt that he was talking about power. But it seems like that's all you care about.
The conversation is about living standards and you bring in the military.

socialized healthcare would not work in the states period.

besides, people can get what they need with a little effort. it's kinda like 'work', but not really :winkwink:

too bad the euro trash in this thread won't be here 4-5 years from now to bring back these dopey ideas and throw them in their face.

It must be cool to live with your european head in the sand and be told you have a high standard of living with good health care.

When was the last time someone wanted the best teatment available hopped a plane and headed for europe?

There's probably someone boarding a plane to do this right now. There are lots of treatments for lots of different medical conditions that aren't approved yet in the US, but are in Europe.

He is funny to watch though. You've got to give him that.

His rant that he would not obey the new law and would continue talking on his hand held phone while driving.

Funny shit.

"Screw any accidents I may cause, screw the law ... I'm talking on my phone! I refuse to buy a hands free kit or just pull over like normal law abiding people!"

I've watched his posts on other forums too. Search for "Standard Internet" at JimWorld.com and a bunch of other heavily trafficked mainstream forums.

Sometimes, he really doesn't know when to stop arguing. :1orglaugh

I think you want to get your head out of the sand -

Several European counties have specialists who leave the US in their wake -
Even small countries which were wartorn till recently are now producing specialist treatment never before seen.

In America - If you can't pay for it - You are dead -

In Europe, if you can't pay for it - You are looked after -

America is good at some things, best in others, worst in many.

Just like any other country.

Yes, we are denied service all the time . They just do it in a sneaky way of not treating you correctly. Amercians are told it's all in their head and there is nothing wrong. Blah blah blah One fucking excuse after another.

Woo hoo.. Paxil and prozac cures all !

:1orglaugh

My examples:

1. I had asthma as a child and told about 4 different doctors that I thought I had it 15 years ago. Allergy testing proved I probably did. I was not confirmed that I had it til a year ago when my new Female doctor who does not play the system game agreed and started treating me.

2. My daughter was denied getting her back checked out 3 years ago because of the system. Daughter now wears a back brace.

3. My hub has been giving the run around for years and told nothing wrong. Wrong. Brain tumor in his pituitary gland. Probably been there for atleast 20 years.

I could go on and on about the fuck ups.

yes, you may get to see a doctor but 95 percent of the time , you will not be treated in the correct matter.

$6.14 ??? DAMN! I would never pay that much for cigs. The highest they've gone here is $3.50 and I won't pay that much. I frequent the discount cig outlets.

Gotta agree with you! There are many excellent docs, but the system fails em badly. Add to that the incestuous relationship between politicians and the "drug cartels" - none of that is in the interests of anyone in the US or "taking care" of folks.

Hell.. even the fish in rivers are high on prozac and got a dose of birth control pills :-)

We need to raise the price of cigarettes more. They're still too cheap.
