I want $5 million in unmarked bills, denominations to be provided in the next message.
|
I promised to provide the denominations.
I want $5 million in one-dollar bills. No wait, I think I want a $20 bill, so take that out of the $5 million one-dollar bills. |

I guess you pissed off a whole bunch of people with that other thread and others. If you pissed that many off you likely were completely inconsiderant of the majority who have worked their adult careers and spit in their face with your philosophies of how it is ok to steal content.
I only read a little bit of the thread but that was the jist of it from what I picked up. I think your only solution is to sincerely apologize, admit your head was/is up your ass and you just want to crawl away and try to find another line of work. I suppose that would help a bit... not sure. And I won't personally read that other thread in full. |
Hahahahahahaha!
I mean really, really now.... AHAHAhahahaha! Okay, I'm done. No wait, wait, here comes another one.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Whew! That was a good one. Carry on. |

Sorry to hear it came to that, and sad to know that people who can't stand to hear an opinion that they don't share can resort to such ass-hattery.

I don't have the 10 year history, but i've been here for a few months and I've read a lot more than I've written. Takes little more than a disagreement over what copyright does and doesn't mean to justify trying to get someone fired. I don't have to agree with him or you or anyone else on the board, but that doesn't entitle me to get all vengeful over it.

You have the right to think what you like, however he has dug his own grave on this one. *SD tribute day spieling |

Unfortunate or not, shit like this happens every day in every part of the world. If you fuck with peoples lively hood be prepared for the consequences. You reap what you sow. :2 cents: |
Didn't realize he was so close to me. I probably drove by that company on the weekend. I've never noticed it on that road before. Must be tucked away in one of the office buildings downtown.

It isn't a debate with him. He hammers his point of view at you and that is the end of the discussion. His views on fair use are skewed, he constantly makes claims that he will never back up or prove and when you don't agree with him he calls you a moron, an idiot, a liar etc. Every chance he has been given he has sided with criminals and pirates. He is not in this industry. He admitted he has no clients in this industry and doesn't market to this industry. Eventually people just got sick of his constantly championing pirates, pirate sites and pro-piracy crap and has my mom used to tell me when I was a kid eventually you reap what you sow. |
Maybe someone can give me an example of where he actually messed with someone else's ability to make a living. Disagreeing with someone on a message board usually doesn't have that effect.

To me, and I think most people in this forum, that is piracy. That is distributing content that he doesn't have the right to distribute. When you say shit like that to people who make and sell content for a living they tend to get a little pissed off. |

So first, before someone misquotes me or tries to misrepresent me, I do care about cancer and cancer patients, my brother lost a nut and my step-mom lost a tit, so this actually hits pretty close to home. It seems to me that your thread was largely around the use off the term 'charity', which in the US is a legal term that describes a 501c3 registered entity. Unlike some other countries, I don't believe there are limits as to what percentage of money raised needs to go to whatever cause vs administrative overhead, so that event could have been through a 501c3 organization. Either way, the claimed financial data looks pretty bad, although it got the job done, so kudos on that. If I was from a country where a charity had to show 80% or whatever of funds going to whatever cause, I'd probably take exception with the ratio. Otherwise, it didn't take long for the discussion to fall apart and not really related to anything, I wouldn't say that either side was representing themselve in a very positive light. |

There is a lot of misconception here as to what fair use is what what it isn't, and I'm surprised at how content producers don't understand the laws in place that affect them. Copyright is a pretty complex set of laws, and they aren't necessarily written to always benefit the producers. I've called out a few of these mistakes in other threads but sometimes I feel like I'm just pissing in the wind. |
