![]() Years ago when I was in Vegas for AEE/Internext, a buddy and I went over to the fashion mall and stopped by an art gallery store. There was these AMAZING pieces of artwork that were light sensitive and I believe it was from Thomas Kinkade.
figured someone here would know, but is that true? I remember there was a few paintings of what looked like a city during dusk/evening that had lights in the windows. The sales guy pointed a light at the picture and when turning down the light, the "lights" on the painting would glow. they were pretty pricey, I remember them around $1500 to $2500 each, however on Thomas Kinkades website they are a fraction so makes me wonder if they are the same.

Sometimes on the back of the painting there is a price tag. Turn over the painting and look at the back of the painting. Also, the front of the painting might have signature of the artist and other information. Good luck.

The word "art" means one thing in LA and NYC, and something else in Las Vegas. Really . . . .

There is also a number down at the bottom right of his artwork... This number reflect the amount of times you can find his wife painted in the scene.

I seem to recall he came unhinged a couple years ago, and at some big party his company put on to announce a new group of his artwork, he sprayed the attendees with his urine

I have 3 Kinkades in my hope that I purchased about 10 years ago. The thing with the lighting is true. Turn the lights down on the picture and it appears that the lights in the painting come on.
What I have were pricey but they were better end stuff at the time.. I have A Quiet Evening, S/P Canvas - Charter number 10 of 160 Twilight Cottage, S/N Canvas - 1607/4950 The Light of Peace, S/N Canvas - 3057/3450 My S/P item which is a studio proof is a fairly rare piece - final highlights are done by Kinkade himself and then it is signed by the artist in metallic ink. The back has a pencil sketch done and signed by him. Haven't checked in a long time what they are worth today.
