Hmm...two people that were tried and convicted...not for merely investigating a historical event as you stated...but for violating the laws of...Germany in the one instance...and Austria in the other. I think that it is not unusal to go to jail for violating the laws of any country...now isn't that true.

When I lived in Phoenix my wife worked in a physical therapy department of a hospital in Sun City, a retirement community. Everyone she dealt with was old, and almost all of them had lived through WWII. One time she noticed someone had one of those tattoos and that's when she discovered that my interest in WWII was embedded in her clients. To make a long story short, in the end I got to meet a lot of people who had made it through WWII, Jews, Germans, everyone. It was amazing really.

i know im replying to a stale post here but...i think being a slave is preferable to being rounded up, thrown in a cattle car, striped nude, & gassed to death. not to mention sowing twins together, surgeries with no anasthesia, injecting dyes into eyeballs etc.

Not to try and downplay those events but you are aware that the scientists and doctors were extracted from Germany via Project Paperclip and mostly sent to the US to continue their work and teach others. And people whom you might admire are very much in tune with Hitler. They just do it under the cover of doing good.
