Is the Visa Extortion fee transferable?

I'm sure you are familiar with "If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!" I'm starting to think that is true in the billing biz.

In September, I was one of many webmasters that got the short end when Lancelot suddenly went out of business.

So, I joined Probilling.com..nice rate (was 9.5%), and no Visa extortion fee. Then probilling starting scrubbing big time around the 17th of this month (at a rate of about 99% rejection of my would be member's credit cards, plus rebills).

So, after losing a lot of business from the rejection of perfectly good credit cards, I joined up with PSWbilling.com 3 days ago and paid the extortion fee from Visa. Today, people are unable to enter my site because their id/pws are being rejected (new info is not getting written to the htpasswd file). I called the office this morning..absolutely NO one there. I've written emails to the rep who signed me up and the tech that set me up..no response all day long. I left voice messages on each voice mail box I could find on their telephone system, but the problem has not been corrected, and no one has yet to contact me, well over 12 hours since the problem began.

Sooooo..two questions:
1)Can anyone TRULY recommend a billing company that DOES have it's act together, provides customer service & support and does not scrub the heck out of credit cards?

2)Do I have to pay that damndable visa fee all over again if I go to a new billing company?

Just about ready to get a po box and tell people to send cash if they want to join. sigh

I invite you to see what we have to offer before you switch to another 3rd party biller. Netbilling will put you in control!

Mitch,

You have to use your own merchant account at netbilling right? What are the (netbilling) fee's and didn't they used to be much lower? I seem to remember them being ~3% or something back when we were checking out that route as an option. Could be wrong though. I was just trying to do some basic math from you saying the person above would save 8%... at the standard 15% that people like to charge (which is waaaaaaaaaay overpriced now that there isn't a chargeback umbrella) this would make your rates around 7% now? 6? 5? Did netbilling raise their rates about the same time the Visa registrations were enforced? Sorry to put ya on the hotplate here..

I'm curious about netbilling again as a solution actually

Hi,

We charge only 1.5% and 15¢ per transaction. However, my quote in the above post includes the merchant account fees. On average, you will pay appromately 7-8% total depending on your average ticket. I invite you to call our Sales Department Monday to get a demo of your system and discuss your options. I promise you will ove what we have to offer.

Have a great night.

Thank you, Mitch Farber

You've paid for PSW, they have pretty good service from what i've seen, they have always been prompt so far with me so just give it a day or two and they'll fix it for you.

Believe me if you had the same problem with Ibill expect 2 weeks before your up and running again...

And yes this is Christmas and new years so this will be as bad as it gets.
