Life is energy. It cannot be created, nor destroyed. It can only be transformed.

So we all have existed from the beginning of the Universe and will exist until the end of the universe? Any proof for that?

In one form or another. Sure.

Religion is not the proof that something is unknowable.
Religion is the decision to stop looking for the answers and remain ignorant.

Something to think about...

Ok, off yourself, then I will watch your energy dissipate into the atmosphere on a heat sensor, while your carcass turns into food for the worms, giving them energy to reproduce and carry on with their lives. I will leave you the results of my findings on your dirt pile so you can read it from wherever it is that energy goes after this place.

It's simple science. I don't know why you don't get this. I think they teach it in Grade 1.

The problem with that is: If I don't have any conscious awareness of it...then I'm really just dead and that's that.

Doesn't matter if my carcass is turned into energy for other things when they eat me. At least it doesn't matter to me. lol

When our life is over we are done. That's it.

I'm hoping that medicine will get to the point where they can regenerate brain cells. And then perform successful brain transplants. Then just clone my body a few times and keep inserting my brain in fresh 18 year old "Robbies" every few decades.

Fuck dying then! lol

Actually, if you believe in the big bang theory there is no beginning and there is no end.

Our Universe was preceded by another one and hundreds of billions of years before that by yet another one and before that another one. Forever and ever backwards and forever and ever forwards the energy that constitutes the Universe is a ceaseless constant.

If there's a higher power, that's it.

Somehow though I don't think it keeps score on who goes to church on Sundays.

In theory yes , in actuality no. We know the process behind the creation of the sun, yet we can't create a sun. Does this mean god made the sun , or does it mean we just cant recreate it yet.

The original post by 12clicks eluded to the fact because we cant recreate life from scratch that it must be god.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20249628/

We are on the verge of creating life., the original post is incorrect, we do have some idea, the fact we haven't completed the task does not hint in any way to me there is a god. on the flipside recreating life from scratch also doesn't hint in any way there is no god either.

Man, these religious arguments NEVER lead anywhere.
It's why crusades and holy wars ( I know it's an oxymoron ) were fought and tens of thousand were killed in the Inquisition and lots of hot chicks were tortured and burned.

The idea of just believe and do not seek answers instigates to this attitude and religions arguments always seek to divide rather then unite. Besides it's great to have them believe in God, what would happen if they believed in...killing Jews for instance?

Not to mention the composition of the atmosphere was different, the water chemistry was different, the weather patterns were different - everything was different.

Your question is redundant, poorly thought out and not very thought provoking at all.

Uhh.. Better re-read what he said.. There was no question asked..

I'm killing a few minutes at the airport but if memory serves, you were about to make a point about my college career and I was going to counter questioning how smart it was to have such a brief career in the easiest business in the world. And then wonder why, 11yrs after a so called happy retirement, you still hand around the boards talking to us dummies.
But I don't have time. :winkwink:

We were talking about " question for the anti-religious crowd." you asked,
you were answered and were humiliated.

I'm not a christian, and I"m not any kind of religion. Most people that are christians were brainwashed by their parents when they were little, or recovering drug addicts out of rehab. That being said, I dont have total faith in science either.. cause it seems like your beliefs in science only go as far as what it can "Prove". Which depends on how far technology has gone. Science has gone back on lots of things that I was taught to be true when I was little.... how much of what you believe today will be proven wrong tomorrow? Exuse me if this post is written crazy the "hypnotizing conversion" banner is right under me and is fucking with my head big time.

i also asked this to My friend Who's an American,, He tied it to devision between political parties imho.

Someone from gfy was keeping this quote on his siggy "

“You can do whatever you want that doesn’t cause harm to others. I may not choose to join
you, but I’ll certainly hold your coat while you do it.".
Halcyon.

This guy John Halcyon knows the deal, His word pretty sums it up what really being Liberal/Progressive is :2 cents:

Us, who retired from this business for good, have lots of time on our hands to do whatever pleases us, and poking ignorance pleases me tremendously.

So, Ron, did you make yourself familiar with:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis

do you see clearly now that anti religious crowd has a valid point while the religious crowd just puts ignorance on the pedestal?

Say "I do" and I'll poke you no more.

This is just paraphrasing of the quote
"I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it"
which was mistakenly attributed to Voltaire.

The religious crowd says the world is too complicated to "just happen" by accident,
it's too perfect.

OK, let's entertain this thought for a moment and assume that this world was created by spark caused by some "entity".
Fine.

BUT....

in order to create this world, the entity should be more advanced than the world.
You are with me, so far, right?

BUT....

in order to create the entity which is more advanced than this world,
the SUPER entity must create that entity,
which puts the question back into the religious crowd corner:
who created and gave spark to SUPER entity and all other entities who created them?

What are the origins of God?

:)

To those who'd like to educate themselves on the subject,
here is the documentary based on the transcripts of the real trial:

to the person who started this thread..........there are things you and me do not know, we only know what they want us to know.
there is no way you can base your facts on 100% truth. you don't know for sure if they are able to create life or not, there is always something someone is hiding somewhere....you know why?? we are scared of what we don't understand.

so before starting idiotic threads like this think not once but 4 times

i don't believe in religion, jesus, god, science, evolution and all that crap.

i mean i believe we evolve as time goes on but what we evolved from i am uncertain of as many of us are.
