Account Closed?

What do you think should happen when you request for a Sponsor to close your account down with funds that never made payout because you decided to no longer be in the adult industry?

Also I would like to hear from anyone that has experienced this before?

They 'should' just pay you what you earned and life goes on.

I was thinking the same thing and in most cases the TOS doesn't mention anything about closed accounts.

What can be done to reclaim earned funds?

Just ask the sponsor for the funds. If you're closing the account and you haven't made the payout margin chances are it's a small amount, that no program should have a problem paying out. They might charge you a fee to withdraw early but other than that there's no reason for them to keep the money. If do keep it then I'd be weary of the program.

Ask for a "final payment"

I have to agree with this statement 100%. Pay what's owed and that's that. That's what I'd do.

I stopped having sites a while ago and I had several programs where I did not make the minimum payout I contacted the ones where I had some money in the I think from $30 and up.
I explained the situation and asked the programs if it were possible to close my account and pay out the outstanding balance with their next payouts.
90% of the places did this but there are a few programs that have ignored multiple emails and ICQs about the issue and the funny part is that its not the small programs that have a problem closing an account and paying the balance, the bigger they are the more difficult it is in my experience.

And then reality sets in and we all realize that they will pinch every penny they can so the chances of getting paid out are slim to none.

That's what I'm noticing, I am in the process of speaking with someone from a very well known company that won't agree to pay me the funds and close my account.

I keep being told that.

Payout Rules:
We will send out checks weekly. For anything under $50.00 per pay period, or the minimum pay amount specified by you, we will carry that amount to the following pay period. All revenues will be disbursed in US Dollars.
I just don't understand... If I'm asking for them to close the account and they do so... what will happen to the money?

And on top of all that, the account has been establish with them since early 2003...

Try contacting them again maybe via ICQ? Maybe they are adding your money when they run the next payout which were my experience when I asked programs to close my account.

I had a similar problems with a company that is very big with an higher than usual minimum payout for ePassporte.
They decided to suspend my account because of inactivity despite me having made a sale within the last 2-3 months making $5-20 a pay period of referrals.
When I asked them about it they claimed to have emailed me about it and even after triple checking my email I did not find any email from them.
When I met the minimum payout 6-12 months later no payment seemed like they did not count my earnings the month or 2 where my account were suspended so I had to contact them and convience them they owed me a payout. Funny thing is that I have not earned one cent with them since despite having referrals there that have made consistent sales for the last 6-8 years

Wow, that's really crazy.

Okay so a little update... after spending more than a hour I was able to have the person in charge agree to pay me the earned funds and close my account.

I also asked for a time range to look out for the check and was told within 2 weeks.

I will keep this thread bookmarked and updated. " If anyone cares to know "

Thanks for everyone that took the time to read and reply to my thread.

As you say BillyHoe, The amount could be small. If so, Some banks do not cash checks from over seas if its under $50. Also, the amount a bank charges on check handling fees, again, it may not be worth it.

This is where the problem of too many people, not really committed, are just wanting to get into the adult business, the thought of easy money, and its not.
Maybe the people that have tried and failed to make a living should let others know. This would make a more successfull business for the guys that really want to do it.

Our TOS specifically refers to this; if you close your account, and are owed more than $10, you get paid. I think it's a fair way to do business.

(No, we don't pay out anything under $10; what's the point? Never had anyone ask for that)
