The thread starter does a great disservice to the brave young men and women fighting currently in Afghanistan and in Iraq, as well as those whom fought during WWII.
My step-father was a young Marine in WWII, and is a very tough old guy to this day, but he would be the first to admit that he and everyone around him was scared as hell. When you see friends wounded and killed, you can't help but cry sometimes. Since they were involved in close combat, they could see the faces and hear the cries of the enemy troops, and the civilians as well. Even that haunts and scares you. I served in the Navy for six years, although I was never in combat, however I had many friends that were in combat, and most would mention how terrifying it was at times. One of the saddest days of my life occurred when several of my friends died in a plane crash during a routine training flight at the base where I was stationed. We heard the plane crash (and at the time didn't know which aircraft it was), but by the time I arrived at the air strip a few blocks away, word had already spread, and there was a large group of people hugging each other and crying, since it was obvious that all aboard had perished. My roommate at the time was a corpsman, and was among the group that had to recover the bodies and body parts after the fire was extinguished. He was so traumatized by the experience that within six months he was given a medical discharge. I'm about as anti-war as a person can be, and I was absolutely against the war in Iraq, however I nonetheless respect and honor our people who serve in the military, regardless about how I feel about the war they are in. When I dislike a specific war, I take it up with the politicians that are authorizing and funding it, not the troops. I hope the original poster will take the time to view this video: A book that I also highly recommend to all is "Johnny Got His Gun", by Dalton Trumbo. Peace, ADG |

You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, "Being There." Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. |
I just left a nice comment on their video. Just seeing if they can handle some of their own medicine.

yes baddog ban him.

imagine if these guys were fighting an enemy with air defense / air planes - lol lol lol lol
theres a difference between being scared - perfectly reasonable - and hiding underneath a table screaming at the top of your lungs because you heard a mortar landing a half mile away - perfectly pussyish if the taliban/al qeada were like this every time they heard air planes above they would start screaming like this little baby and they'd be wiped out in no time i dont understand how people arent protesting in mass numbers in the US that their soldiers are being sent into combat without proper training, no real goals, no moral ground and no real reason for fighting other than 9/11 something that happened 8 years ago and the mastermind of going to trial for it in the US...why the war? im sure the soldiers wake up every morning and realize slowly that they're being used as pawns without any regard for their lives or the lives of their families at home lol @ him telling the guy at the end to stop pushing him out from under the table |

I'm just saying these are normal guys over there, and they're getting fucking bombs thrown at them for absolutely nothing. How anyway can come down on them for panicking, cowering down, or even crying out in tears for their mommy is beyond me. Their lives are flashing before their eyes as they look death in the face in that situation. No one can take anything away from them and say they are cowards. it takes a brave man to put himself in that situation. It's really sad that they are put in those boots for what amounts to nothing more than the continuation of manifest destiny. If you still can't see it, america is the aggressor in this war, and it started way before 9/11. It's just plain silly that young men are over there risking their lives over shit that has nothing to do with them. How long does this shit need to go on before it's realized it's just another Vietnam? BRING THE TROOPS HOME. |

You called them army boys idiots, go re read your own words. You attempted to correlate intelligence with the reactions of those on video, as to say that if they were smarter they wouldn't be in that situation, due to lack of choices. You try to interject your supposed knowledge of world economics and why we shouldn't be there, but I bet you'd be the first asshole complaining about the price of gas, the price of food, the price of milk going up, and blaming the government for it. Whether you agree or not, every service man out there is defending our way of life. So you can go to Costco and get cheaper whatever, so you can take your car down to the gas station to buy smokes, so you can have your big flat screen hanging on your wall. If we werent' there extending our military might, you can kiss all that shit good bye. |
.....without proper training. morals...
LOL nevermind...i just saw your from ontario///that would explain your shortcomings AS FAR AS THE ANOTHER POST, MY son is RA (E-5)....he had the choice between WHATEVER College he wanted, at no expense to him (yes, rumor has it i made a few dollars in this biz), but he chose to enlist after 9-11..... he has proper training...he has no finiancial hardship, he is not uneducated...in other words, he does not meet the stereotype that the masses think populate our military. I may wish i didn't post this, but some of you idiots just piss me off |

and how dare you degrade The Big Lebowski in your avatar...
Walter would be appalled using his picture and never approve of your post: Walter Sobchak: Donny was a good bowler, and a good man. He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors... and bowling, and as a surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo. He died, like so many young men of his generation, he died before his time. In your wisdom, Lord, you took him, as you took so many bright flowering young men at Khe Sanh, at Langdok, at Hill 364. These young men gave their lives. And so would Donny. Donny, who loved bowling. And so, Theodore Donald Karabotsos, in accordance with what we think your dying wishes might well have been, we commit your final mortal remains to the bosom of the Pacific Ocean, which you loved so well. Good night, sweet prince. so get walter out of your avatar |
I did a little time over in the middle east and I pissed myself the day a 7.62mm round ripped though my shoulder of my jacket.. Yep. I pissed myself.
Scared the FUCK out of me and anyone who has been in war knows that everyone is scared or to crazy to realize. Lucky for me, I was a better shot than the guy who almost got me.. |

Indisputable proof that Americans are cowards. Before the invasion they pounded Iraq for how long with what size munitions? how many 15,000 pound daisy cutters did they drop in Afghanistan?
a few mortars shot their way and they piss themselves, pray and cry? :1orglaugh Wow.. in Patton's army those poor bastards would get shelled by Nazis for like 2 weeks steady without resorting to crying as a method of counter-attack. "Oh shit. All ah wanted was da 50 thousand dollah signing bonus to buy a new truck!! Get me outta here, jebus!" :waaaaahh:bowdown |

You are done here now, after that statement, you know that don't you? |
Guys we have something called the interweb now so there IS NO FUCKING EXCUSE to not be somewhat informed about what is really going on the the world and why these kids are sent off to mass slaughter mostly innocent people on the other side of the world. If you are an adult (with at least 2 brain cells) in the year 2009 who is still buying into the sham that our leaders actually care about this country then you deserve the worst the world has to throw at you.
Participating in these wars is simply criminal.:2 cents: I can give a pass to people who fought in Vietnam, the Korean war, the first Gulf War, and even Kosovo. But by now you should have exposed yourself to ideas outside of the tightly controlled mainstream media and realized how criminal our government has become. If anyone has any problem with my statement please never do business with me and of course :321GFY |
