There is a product called LoadRunner and it is used for testing purposes and I can ramp up 10,000 concurrent users per second on your sit and have it down for days.... if I see my mate I will send you the hits that you have been waiting for.
In the meantime someone else can bot hit you site and all you other sites and take them down too... You do want traffic right?

Seriously, if you can't afford to buy traffic:
submit the blog to blog directories(as well as other directories) and trade hardlinks with similar sites(blogs). Use a free hosted blog site to create splogs with links to your blog and submit them to blog directories
