From what I've heard, using a third party biller does not necessarily prevent shaving.

It's very easy to do if the hit doesn't go straight to the 3rd party biller and instead passes through a script somewhere. Why would it be difficult?

There are several ways, but you people are confusing third party 'stats' with a third party 'processor' you can process sales anyway you want and then pass on the billing information to your processor of choice.

In this case iBill was billing the credit cards, but the sales and affiliate ceredits were processed in house. This is pretty common, Lightspeed for instance has their own in house affiliate tracking but still process sales through CCBill.

This is not to imply that Lightspeed operates in any way like these scumbags. I think anybody would agree that Lightspeed sets the benchmark for honesty in porn.

there are two ways:
1) send surfers through ibill's cookie placer url
2) send surfers straight to Dollars4All script (in this case)

#2 is almost always true for per signup programs, and in #2 shaving is very possible.

Every sponsor who pays $30 or more per signup is shaving you. I doubt this is even an extreme case, someone hack Nasty Dollars' stats system, you'll really be supprised when you see 80% of your sales being shaved.

I've heard over the years that $30/signup is about the break even and maybe the sponsor makes a few bucks.

We're not smart enough to shave, pay 60/40 on everything and have some great niche sites that hang on to a hard-earned signup.

this really could be a problem for dollars4all for several reasons first they have to change ever user pass. which means the customers are most likely getting pissed cause they can not log in.
and if someone used all those e-mail address to send the url to the page with all that info on it I think that everyone who has a membership would be running to cancel it quickly.

If a webmaster was promoting them and had a copy of whatever was in that admin area (I didnt see it), they would have grounds to sue. Wouldnt they? And maybe during the procss of a trial laws would fall in place to prevent these type of activities. But that probably will not happen

Nbritte Confirmed User Join Date: Sep 2001 Location: Kentucky USA Posts: 689	Just a thought. this really could be a problem for dollars4all for several reasons first they have to change ever user pass. which means the customers are most likely getting pissed cause they can not log in. and if someone used all those e-mail address to send the url to the page with all that info on it I think that everyone who has a membership would be running to cancel it quickly.
