Lesnar bad or good for UFC?

he's too fucking big, where are they going to find guys near 300 pounds to give this big doofus a good fight? i'm a very casual MMA watcher and from where I'm sitting long term he's not good for the MMA, i'm sure you MMA purists will say guys with better technical skills than him will be able to beat him - nah, that's like the boxing version of a 'puncher's chance', as Lesnar keeps getting more experience as an MMA fighter he will become unbeatable and that's not good for the sport.

i also don't like the guy, horrible personality.

he's great for the UFC.

people love their freakshows and many times playing that villain role is just as good as being the fan favorite. at the end of the day, when u know brock lesnar is fighting, you're going to want to tune in. the ufc is good enough that they will find decent ppl to fight him imo.

yeah he should take lessons from Hulk Hogan & the Rock, develop some charisma & become a peoples champ. He could elevate UFC to a whole nother level. Maybe he just doesnt have it in him.

They need to have fedor take a trip over to U.S.A and lay a retarded beating on his ass.

Now if for some reason he got lucky and beat fedor, it would pretty much be the end of the world.

Do you guys know anything about steroids? He shouldn't be in the UFC, he's taken HGH. Just because it's not still in his body because the half life is short doesn't mean he should be allowed in the UFC, HGH has permanent results. He wouldn't be near that weight naturally.

And you know this how? A friend of a friend of a friend told you? Brock Lesnar has never failed a drug test and has been a monster since he was a teenager. As a matter of fact he even got a formal apology from the Louisville Police Dept back when he wrestled for OVW when they seized a shipment that came to his apartment suspecting that it was steroids, and it turned out it was just over the counter supplements...

"Lesnar won the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship as a heavyweight after placing second in 1999. Prior to joining the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Lesnar also wrestled at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota.[3] Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, 1998 NJCAA Heavyweight Champion, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.[16]"

He may be an ass-- but the guy is an athlete -- he just wanted to pound the shit out of Mir.

Supplements PoD or HGH? lol it's not a controlled substance. Like I said, it has a short halflife so tested or not. He can get away with it. All it takes is using a short acting ester.

There are clear sign, enlarged facial bones, improportionate, his bf % compared to his overall size, etc. Lots of them

Steroids are much more common than you think. To say he didn't do them is ridiculous, hell I couldn't even see him denying that. He would, however deny he is doing them now but that's not the point. Steroids have a long term effect. Drug tests can only check whats in your system now!

I actually dont care if he did steroids or trannys. This guy is here to stay.

Brock is a serious athlete who proved himself in NCAA Wrestling then took time off for WWE (where he was still training), then decided that MMA was a right fit for him.

If he tests clean now thats what matters. He is a genetically gifted athlete and i dont give a shit how much steroids and HGH NASA gives any current UFC fighter, u will not make another Brock Lesner.

MMA is still young, more and more people are getting into organized fighting every day as the popularity of the fight rises. I guarentee you that in some corner of the world there is a brute motherfucker who would rip Lesnar apart right no, or one training in a gym who in two years will have all the skills and size to do the job. All it will take is time and some one will find him. Perhaps Fedor is that man, perhaps not. hell, Mir and Lesnar are 1 and 1 with eachother now. For all anyone knows Mir could come back for a 3rd fight and rip his fucking arm off. It's a fight. All it takes is one punch, one slip up,and it goes entirely the other way. I still don't like the fucking guy and can't wait to see him get his ass beat.

Overall I'd say it's gonna be good for ratings. Good for MMA as a sport, I dunno. I'm really hoping it was just him being a prick towards Mir because he genuinely hates the guy. if the attitude continues to spill over to other fighters, well, then hes just a fucking douchebag, what are anyone of us going to do about it?

If he tests clean now, that's what matters? HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE

I really don't care for this argument but if you guys are going to make it that easy on me. lol

So if he didn't test clean, there would be a problem? But considering it's near impossible to test for something that leaves your body that quickly and gives you near instant/long term effects, that's okay? LOL

Don't get me wrong, he's taken to this sport like a champ, he's put in the time to learn, etc. etc. -- but he wouldn't be at this point without depending so highly on drugs

We can all agree he relies on his size, something that isn't close to natural.

All im saying, I am not getting more into this.

Right now there is a guy who can beat Lesnar...

Kurt Angle.

The two of them did a couple of shoot fights in the ring when they were both in WWE with just the boys watching at ringside (before the fans were let in the arena). Angle stretched Lesnar out when they did that. But Angle ain't gonna leave pro wrestling anytime soon. He's had a couple of broken necks and trying to fight full time in MMA would probably lead to a crippling injury for him.

But I believe he could come in and give Lesnar a very good fight. He was training to do just that last year with Frank Trigg. But it looks like he's listening to the advice of his family and doctors and backing away from entering MMA.

But if he did...an Angle vs. Lesnar match would be HUGE money.

I think it's cool that UFC has a "heel" character, in the spirit of WWE...

But yeah he's bad news for the heavyweight class, there just aren't that many 300 pound guys that decide they want to start taking jiu jitsu. It sucks that talented fighters like Frank Mir cannot physically gain enough weight to be able to stand a chance

And as far as steroids go...they should ALL be on them. I don't particularly want to see 175 pound guys go at it. I want to see athletes with all their genetics fully unleashed. Why not? Because the govt. says so? All those steroids were 100% legal right up until the late 1980's/mid 1990's.

So all the athletes prior to 15-20 years ago were able to do whatever it took to kick ass and perform in sports?

I think it's silly. Taking steroids does not in and of itself make you bigger and stronger. You have to train your ass off and eat correctly and dedicate yourself to your sport to do that.

I could take steroids AND eat right AND work my ass off in the gym. But even if I did all of that I would still never be able to outswim Michael Phelps, or outwrestle Brock Lesnar, or play baseball better than Barry Bonds, or throw a football better than Dan Marino.

Some people are just genetically gifted to do certain things. Steroids would make them even better.

Hell, they don't even let our military guys take them!?!?!? WTF!?!?!? If I were in charge of the military it would be a goddamn requirement. The U.S. would have a muscled up, testosterone charged military that would kick some serious ass in battle.

I don't like him. Not because of his size- his attitude is what gets me. WWE is a soap opera, and the longer he is in the ufc, the more it seems to me like hes falling back into his soap opera acting ways, and I think that will be bad for MMA in general. I think that Mir went into last night a little TOO relaxed. I think they should give Mir a rubber match, because I believe he can be lesnar. The way Brock was flipping the crowd off last night - either hes a bigger dipshit than I thought, or Dana is encouraging him to play the heel, which I think is sad. We don't need theatrics, I just want a good fight.

Just got a message from a friend of mine who is a fighter..here was what he had to say about last night:

"Brock's heeling was definitely something people will hate, but will buy PPV's for. I think Cro Cop, Fedor for sure, Gonzales and maybe Hernandez are the only ones that can work through the size game Brock has, he pretty much laid on Mir and word is Brock works with Shawn Sherks team now so he is probably going to get even better in his next 2-3 fights"

He can be beat. Not by me though

The best of the best have been beaten in the past. The thing about MMA that is the great equalizer is those small gloves. You make a mistake and get caught, lights out.

There was a time not too long ago when nobody thought Chuck Liddell could be beaten. Or what about Anderson Silva? He is amazing, but he has been beaten.

I think Lesner is good for the UFC. He gives people someone to love or hate depending on where you stand. I wouldn't be shocked to see him fight a couple more guys and if he wins those fights face Fedor.

The new ultimate fighter is coming up and it is going to be nothing but heavyweights so you know Dana is out there looking for competition.

I agree somewhat with that all. In the perfect world. However as much as I am pro steroids. I know how easy they are to abuse them and give them to people to give them that extra edge, well that's just dangerous. Sorry but if I was a woman and my husband joined the military, I would not want steroids to be easily accessible for my husband to overdose on. It can lead to major organ failures/problems. There is a reason they were banned, not because they are dangerous when used correctly, how easy they are to abuse.

Everything is easy to abuse. My feeling is that they were banned because I can get a years worth of testosterone on the street for around $800.

BUT, if I obtain testosterone "legally" (I put that in parenthesis because it is a hormone that is produced naturally in my body anyway), I have to: Spend money at the doctor for a visit. Spend more money at a lab having my blood drawn. Spend more money with the followup at the doctor. Fill the prescription for over-priced testosterone. Then do that EVERY 3 months so the doctor can "check my levels". You end up spending 3 to 4 thousand dollars before that's over with.

I think it has more to do with money than any concern by the caring and sensitive govt. over our health and well being. Cigarettes kill millions of people every year...and I believe people should have the right to smoke if they choose....but if it's all about health and not money, then why do they just keep taxing the fuck out of smokes instead of making them illegal?

We could go deep into this if we compare it to alcohol and cigarettes. I understand what you're saying.

Don't forget, Couture was handling Lesnar pretty good, made him bleed a little bit but just got caught with a punch that he actually saw coming and ducked, but it caught the back of his head.

Mir really never had a chance. He should have lost that first fight and the only reason he won was because the ref stopped the fight. Then he got Lesnar in a knee bar that he telegraphed for about 10 seconds before he finally did it. There was no chance he would get that lucky again.

Fedor doesn’t fight in the UFC though. He’s with its rival promotion, Affliction. He’ll fight Aug. 1 in Anaheim, Calif., in what is the last match of his contract. Affliction is hoping to re-sign him until 2012, but the UFC will come hard after him. More now then ever. And that means money, big money.

“Eventually Fedor is going to be here,” White said. “I want Fedor. We’ll end up getting that deal done and then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor and we’ll do a huge fight.”

Time will tell, but the pressure to sign the elusive Russian has been ratcheted up. A villain was born and there isn’t an obvious superhero in sight. The UFC brought Brock Lesnar over from the WWE for just this kind of a sensation. And the big man has delivered – the good, the bad and the embarrassing.

Only Dana White has no scriptwriters that can contain him.

They need to bring in another EX WWE star like Bobby Lashley. That guy beat up Bob Sapp a few weeks back. Same style as Lesnar.

Steroids are much more common than you think. To say he didn't do them is ridiculous, hell I couldn't even see him denying that. He would, however deny he is doing them now but that's not the point. Steroids have a long term effect. Drug tests can only check whats in your system now!
They were over the counter supplements. HGH might not be a controlled substance, but you still need a prescription for it, and when the Louisville PD realized they fucked up they were looking for any way possible to save face. They held the supplements and tested them repeatedly until they finally admitted they fucked up and issued a formal apology. If it was HGH they could have still dinged him for not having a script.

I've seen pictures of Brock Lesnar posted on a forum when he was 17 years old, and he was damn near as big as he is now and even more cut up. Personally I couldn't give a shit less what he took, but in his case he is 100% clean. You can't just pull it out of your ass and say someone is on steroids when all the evidence points to the contrary.

Brock Lesnar has been more than candid about having an addiction to pain pills while working for the WWE, which is common among pro wrestlers due to the amount of bumps they put their body through. But he has always been 100% clear that he has never done steroids, so saying that he would admit that he did is just plain silly...

You can easily solve this problem by bringing in FEDOR Emillianenko. He has never lost nor will he even in ufc. The guy would destroy brock hands down

Fedor is the best, but time they fight he will be out his prime
This is why it's so crucial to get this fight in the bag asap. If Fedor is out of his prime and somehow gets beaten, the argument can always be made that he would have won if he were in his prime.

I don't care about what they need to do to get this match-up. Just do it.

Not digging it. Still yet to impress me. When he gets beat, he's gona crawl with "i got beat, i will go train, forgive me", and now acts like a jackass.
Still think a good grappler would get him not that hard.

Fedor = class act.

I love watching Brock Lesnar fight and his post-fight interview was hilarious. Fedor would probably knock out or submit Lesnar though.

Like someone said earlier, they need to get Fedor now, before he passes his prime.

He's far from unbeatable, that's why they're throwing him guys who are pretty much washed up. They'll let him build himself up as a heel, get super famous, then they'll put him in with a young guy and he'll get smacked out of there. Randy was pretty much ripe for the picking when they fed him to Lesnar, Mir was done YEARS ago.

Fedor would murderize Lesnar.

Is Lesnar an Ass attitude wise? Absolutely.

Is he good for the sport? Absolutely.

Any ufc show lesnar headlines will be one of the top grossing of the year. Coming from the WWE, he understands the heel concept and knows the kind of drawing power it can give him. Its all just an act, hes a smart businessman!

Brock is the ufc's golden boy now. We wont be seeing a brock vs fedor fight in a while. I love Brock, yea he's a disrespectful cunt, but he's entertaining to watch. Its fun seeing someone play a heel in mma. Ive never seen that before...well other than michael bisping ( sorta ).
