However, for those who merge and do not invest in new technology or consumer tailored content will fail as well. They may pull out another few years, but no reinvestment, and they will be gone as well.

The days of buying a company just for their porn library so you can re-run it on your sites (assuming people have not seen it) is over. You need to invest in consumer driven content, and provide it to them in a delivery system they prefer at a cost they are willing to pay.

Following that logic the industry never would have got off the ground.
Ever hear of newsgroups and binaries? They were around much earlier on than html markup or spyglass.

You could get an account with uunet... import the messages into a BBS and run a utility to flip them into pictures instead of 7 bit code.

McHenry's, Rusty and Edies and even GonZoland was doing this in the mid 80s... not the late 90s.

I know this evolved to early paysite owners when a scanner cost 10K . . . and to get less than what we would call a nice high res picture these days a Crossfiled scanner cost close to a cool mill.

Rubbish Porn Sites

The only way the porn industry is going to improve
and affiliates start to make some proper money
is to get rid of the vast majority of crap sites out
there. The reason affiliates earnings are falling is
because the product ie the websites are usually rubbish.
Most of the site owners who post messages on this
forum seem to own poor sites. Poor design , poor graphics ,
old/tired models and the overwhelming attitude of treating
the surfer like a complete moron. A classic example is Score.com
who's photographers wouldn't know how to make a pretty girl
even sexier if you paid them double the money. A case in point
is Linsey Dawn McKenzie. A sexy girl with a great pair of tits
but ruined by working with Score. And that sites not alone in
the rubbish stakes. There are plenty more out there. But compare
that to the guy that runs Milena Velba and Nadine Jansen's websites.
They are proper classy big boob websites worth every dollar of a
surfers money. So until the old school buck up their ideas and
make decent sites i'm afraid the surfer is going to continue to
be very disappointed.

I was totally agreeing with you until I read your comments about Linsey Dawn McKenzie.

I know her, know the Score Group who shot her in the UK and know the money everyone made. For a girl shot so badly a lot of people made a fortune. Including David Sullivan. And probably still making money today out of her.

The reason they all made so much money was people were prepared to invest in content in those days.

But it's interesting what you say about about the content of most sites. Just got it wrong about Linsey Dawn McKenzie.

When will people understand it is not about own content, high def quality / exclusive... and movies produce like real movies ?

It's about shooting something that captures the buyers imagination enough to get him to buy.

Private went that route and did it even more than Pink TV, did not work.

If I was well, I could shoot a great porn scene using my phone, so can other people and one of the reasons we are in the situation we are today (Internet, DVD and cable) is we went the route your friend is going and Pink TV and thought we could market the hell out of it and make it work.

Welcome to the result.

Ahaha yeah now i remember. You, just like some idiots in this thread, started crying real bad about how the industry is dead and how there is no more money to be made. You ofcourse wanted to hear the same from everyone else but it turned out that many people make loads of money including me and you got totally pissed off

All you broke losers are the same. You want to hear the industry is dead so it would make you feel better. When people tell you there's actually plenty of money to be made you get all upset and start attacking those people

Same story over and over again. You started calling me an idiot while i'm the one making money and you start threads about how broke you are

Funny shit.

She was signed up on an exclusive contract to Score. Not Penthouse level shooters, but not bad.

Do you know what the biggest shame is about the porn industry today?

If she was around today she would be earning more doing strip a grams than modeling for mags or sites assuming she did not do hard core for one of the big DVD producers like Vivid. A great girl who sold in bucket loads, today would earn more turning up at stag parties and stripping.

It all sounds great saying those fine words, but fact is if you are creative and dedicated you can sell shit in a public toilet, you just have to make it look nice

And porn is somewhat easier to sell since it looks nicer

would be interesting to see how many "adapt or die" people will be here.
