labret quoting eddie murphy? the apocalypse is upon us!
:helpme |
i tried to find the old thread from ynot, but the search only seems to go back 90 days :(
|
These types of threads keep you up to speed on who to do business with and who to steer clear of.
All this time I thought I was being too harsh on the work he did for me - wasted 35 bucks. So now everyone can keep count, in two years, there have been two scammers I've dealt with LOVEMATCH (don't think I'll forget) HUNGRYMAN (wasn't as skillful as he claimed to be - didn't maintain deadlines either) Live and learn. |

Ok, guess I was wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. I'm a little supprised Hungry hasn't posted then, I guess he's guilty of everything he's being accused of. |

Maybe they shouldn't have, sounds like it might have stopped this guy from ripping off other people if he was outed sooner. I guess they did what they had to do, though, if it would have somehow put buck's job in jeopardy. |

I always wondered why he was constantly sticking up for the guy......turns out he was in the same boat |
Ya know what Labret, I held this stuff for a long time, and even begged amp not to say anything, and I warned hungryman to leave amp alone cuz he would get fucked, and he never listened to me, he had this delusion that he really was a designer, and that tennisace and him were somehow different.
Todd the web inc king, YOU never claimed to be a designer, you always claimed to be the sex toy king who filled a niche with kick ass designers and work...' owning a design company and claiming you're a designer are two different things you own a kickass company, and you already said you don't design so it's all good there... |

Buck -- What can I say.... I knew you'd come here, but I had no idea your post would be so.... informative. I was riveted while reading it. I kept thinking "this should be a made-for-TV movie or something", very enlightening and entertaining.
Strange thing is, this could all blow over and eventually go away if a few people would just get paid some money. I really don't get it... does the money not exist? Are vid and Hungryman broke or something? I don't see where a few lousy grand should be any problem, especially when it could save your reputation. Are people making less money than they let on??? (ha ha) Amp -- dude, have you slept yet? |

same here, i still haven't figure what's the whole deal about, but my personal experience with Hungryman is that he is straight guy and gives credits to people that worth it. This is something i appreciate a lot. We had a discussion long time ago about graphics designers and he told me he admires AMP's work and that he considers him the best. He also told me that Fletch is a very good designer. I won't hide when we had this discussion i was considering Fletch just a logo creator for tgps....His portofolio back then was under construction and had only some tgp samples and as you know i hate tgps.....so i had the impression Fletch was a wannabe designer of the board. I was proved wrong not a long time after that when I saw Fletch's design on the GFY competition. It was at least great, among the best top3. Of course now I know Fletch is a very good designer and he posts on this board for fun and not in order to spam his work on every opportunity. Amputate, I believe you should had handled this issue over icq, phone, email or whatever...... |

Ahh, a nice 5.5% Dry tallboy, a staple of any good breakfast. My guess would be that three of those would put most "big drinkers" in the USA on their asses. |
The amount of self-control and patience exhibited by Amp and Buck (LTNS!! :) ) is nothing short of amazing. And Fletch's buddy, too. Just when I think I've seen the absolute worst this biz has to offer, I turn around and find a thread like this one and am suddenly reminded of all the GOOD people I mingle with every day :)
As for you, Hungryman... Sayonara, shweetheart. You're up shit creek with no paddle, and it looks to me like you threw them overboard yourself with your shady business practices. It's because of people like you that even someone like me, who contracts out minor text writing projects, is forced to demand full payment IN ADVANCE for even a $25 job. A f*ckjob is a f*ckjob... size and dollar amounts don't matter. As my grandmother used to be fond of saying, "If you don't like the circumstances you find yourself in, take a good long look in the mirror because only there you will find the one who is to blame." I doubt that any of you will ever see your money, but you have my admiration for shining the spotlight on this guy and preventing him from doing the same to others. Cheers! :) |
I was a bit shocked after reading all of this - though I did read everything. I haven't been involved in Hungryman's business, though personally he is a really caring nice guy. I know anyone who may have done business from him, might have a biased view of him now, though please don't insulting him as a person.
People get into a certain way of doing things, and if they can continue to them in the same manner without anything bad happening to them (like they can still make a living off of it), then they will continue. He may not be able to make a living off of it anymore, which means he will have to adjust his practices. There are many design companies who are just agencies, or outsource many designs. I am sure that many people did not know this, and I think this fact that it wasn't clear with him shouldn't be put on him as a fault. I can understand that people that have done business with him and have not been paid would be aggrevated. I have about $1000+ of people that have not paid me for hosting that I used to offer. Though as a business person, it is very wrong of you to instantly go public, and especially after the time period allowed to pass - 2 years. Instantly bringing this into public view, without the facts, or not giving the opposite side to respond privately first is defaming of character to me. In the case of Amputate and Duane, if the 2 years has passed since the design was given to Hungry by Duane, then it basically is deemed as his, whether you agree to that or not, any course would agree with me, unless he was told earlier to send payment, or that it was borrowed. If people hadn't gotten their designs on time - it happens. If you keep buying services from the person, then you should expect them to not be on time, even if they say so. It's common sense that it will be late again. If people hadn't gotten paid for their designs - it happens. If you keep designing things for the person, then you should expect to not receive payment, even if they say so. It's once again common sense that they most likely will not pay. I know people base a lot of things on trust, and I still do, and it sucks when things like this happen, it really does. I now am very cautious of anyone I do business with, even the known people, because if anyone they could probably make you look in the wrong if you have no evidence, and it costs more money to take legal action, then people usually loose out on. Seperate personal from business, and business from personal. If someone is nice, great. If someone does good business, great. Cheers, Matt P.S. I have to walk my puppy and then go grocery shopping, so I will reply later if need be.. |
baaaahhhh - what does hungryman care?
He's a PORN STAR now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Giving beer to a Canadian is like giving whiskey to an indian. They all descend from Frogs, and they are a bunch of wine drinking fruits. You just dont have beer drinking genes like the Scandinavians, and various other European beer loving nations. You ever seen an itialian drink beer? Not pretty. |

I've drank beer with several Americans over the past few decades. The swill they get piss drunk on doesn't even phase most good Canadians. Coors? please. Blue ribbon? ha ha, yeah. American-made Bud? oh yeah, now you're talking.... not. He who knocks Canadian beer knows not what the fuck he speweth about. |

Nysus, I agree with some of what you say, but I have to take issue with a certain point...
Quote:
Granted, if it is now 2 years since the design was made, I'd have to say that Amp is a helluva lot more patient than I would be in this situation. But like Buck has said, there are a lot of extenuating circumstances to consider as well. Bottom line is, you can't argue with what is right and what is wrong. The original designer deserves to be paid, no question about it. No courT in any country would argue with that. |

Something I either didn't notice or don't quite understand...
Was PaysiteDesign.com created as a "favor" or not? From Pensfans statement, I thought it was. Anyway, if it was a "favor", how can you come back two years after the fact and demand payment on something that payment terms were never created for? And don't get me wrong, I totally understand why Amp is pissed. He should have blown up about this ages ago, most people would have, including myself. I would not tolerate someone bragging about their work, when it was actually my creation. |
Just another day in my 'lokked' out hood.
