As mentioned a month or so back, I picked up two new kitties. One is a Siamese, the other a minx or tiger? Not quite sure. Anyways, they are both eating the same food, and treats. However tiger kittie has some of the worst fucking gas on the planet.

If she is full (from eating) and you pick her up. She farts and it's like mustard gas. When she wakes up from sleeping and stretches. It's like VX poison gas. Sometimes she will want some attention, climb on your chest in the office, and jams her ass in your face and let loose..... ![]() Is this something common with some breeds of cat? Or some kinda digestive issue? Food?? I am thinking of taking her to the vet on a full stomach so they can catch a whiff of my complaint and grasp the magnitude of some kitten stinking up the whole fucking house. They are both getting that IAMS kitten hard stuff, as well as a half can of that IAMS kitten formula, and the only other thing in their diet is some Pounce treats as I train them. ![]() |

The Siamese was not put into the adoption program (yet) because she is not good with kids, or strangers for that matter. But I wanted a Siamese so I took her anyways. Regardless of her being anti social. I am used to Siamese cats and their attitudes. I have had 4 before. |

But honestly, my money is on the worms. All kittens have them. Shots aren't de-wormer. So that'll be for like feline leukemia and rabies.

this may also be a food related issue. the way to tell is to switch brands. try to get food that contains rice, not corn, wheat or gluten. it could be a microorganism, too. find out if that cat's stool is loose, pale, bloody and/or mucus-y. thats good info to have. actually, examining stool is a notable way to determine the heath status of a cat since they hide "illness" so well. |

So in that regard the pinched loaves would appear to be the same for both the cats. The solution to the natural gas problem cat goes more than the other. Beyond that, their turd wafers seem to consistent more a less. |

one cat food i have used with great success has black sides and a dark pink center for the packaging. forgot the name of it though. i have also played around with "all natural" hard foods and those seemed to do down well also. |

otherwise, they bury it and shit dries out in litter. blood disappears, mucus dries up, soft poo gets hard.if the shit is real bad due to illness or infestation it will be appear later as a dry clump, pool or dried poo in small, weird shapes. in those extreme instances poo sometimes gets stuck on fur. glad to hear you're not in that boat. thats good. maybe it's just the food then. checking for microbes in poo under a lens could be a interesting test though. what the vet will do is insert a stick in the cats ass to grab some poo then they disappear into the lab for five minutes with their little poo sample... lol |

That's strange...Especially if you're feeding them kitten food. Kitten food is very rich, so I would try NOT feeding them the canned food for a day or so and see if it helps.

I called the vet today, and scheduled appointment. They told me the kitties do not need soft food and I can stop giving them that. So it may help. They also asked for a stool sample from the one. |

Usually gas in kittens is a combination of the food and their growing digestive systems. You can also help alleviate them by putting 100% aloe juice in their water, its good for them and helps calm their tummies. I would sometimes give my kitties chamomile tea in their water as well. Good luck in finding the right food, it make a couple times, you can usually get samples from your pet store so you aren't spending a lot experimenting.

one of the 7 in my house is a gassy kitty. Never been a reason for it that the vet can find. 5 of them are related and two are shelter kitties that I took when my son and daughter-in-law split for 8 months. When they got back together the kitties were already a part of the horde here and beside they had a baby on the way. It's one of those shelter kitties, Max, that is the gassy one. Can't blame it on the food as they all eat the same stuff.

My kitten is 13 weeks old and farts quite a bit lol but i've noticed that he absolutely gulps his food down and is likely to be gulping air inbetween bites lol. Mine was at the vets for his 2nd lot of booster injections and she said he was healthy. It might just be something your kitty suffers with, but its good that you're getting it checked out

is the kitten formula you mentioned a wet food or actual liquid? either way i would cut that out and change the food to one that has no corn, corn by products or wheat and you will be fine. it will cost a bit more but will be a wash after the savings from all the airfreshener you must be using. meow
