"President-elect Obama has decided to tap Eric Holder as his attorney general, putting the veteran Washington lawyer in place to become the first African-American to head the Justice Department, according to two legal sources close to the presidential transition," Newsweek's Michael Isikoff reports.

Holder, who served as deputy attorney general during the Clinton administration, still has to undergo a formal "vetting" review by the Obama transition team before the selection is final and is publicly announced, said one of the sources, who asked not to be identified talking about the transition process. But in the discussions over the past few days, Obama offered Holder the job and he accepted, the source said. The announcement is not likely until after Obama announces his choices to lead the Treasury and State departments.
Holder, 57, has been on Obama's "short list" for attorney general from the outset. A partner at the D.C. law firm of Covington & Burling, Holder served as co-chief (along with Caroline Kennedy) of Obama's vice-presidential selection process. He also actively campaigned for Obama throughout the year and grew personally close to the president-elect. Holder has not returned a call seeking comment; the Obama transition team did not respond to e-mail messages.

The faces may have changed but I'm sure those who voted for change are looking for SUBSTANTIVE change as well. Clinton as SOS and Rahm Emmanuel as chief of staff doesn't inspire much belief in substantive change. Although demographically, change in the staff lineup has occured.

Regardless, its interesting how much any of this will result in changes in US policy during the next presidential term.

There's a third alternative: someone actually expecting them him to deliver on the promise of real change. Then again, he ran a perfect campaign of positioning and 'refining' so this probably should not come as a surprise. However, there are those who did vote for substantive change. I guess this is their opportunity to learn the cold hard facts of how politics really delivers on its promises.

Thats the mistake the article itself makes, as they usually do! Read it carefully. On one hand they're talking about OBSCENITY and KP, then they use the old "p" word out of long accepted ignorance! Saying "Prosecution of even the smallest of porn distributors "can have a deterrent effect.""

Now this is important! To *THEM* (the article writers!) the word "porn" refers to ILLEGAL CONTENT as previously mentioned! It does NOT MEAN legal adult content like MOST people who are IN the adult industry would refer to the word "porn".

You have to stay vigilante on this shit even today, but ESPECIALLY in 10 year old articles. "porn" is a buzzword you have to be careful with. We are not in porn, and are not pornographers. We are in the adult industry. Think it doesnt matter? I respectfully and fully disagree.
