Is moniker still the best domain registrar, what other companies are you guys using?

The title says it all, thinking about possibly transfering my domains and want to see whats out there.

Thanks

Stay far away from GODADDY. They will delete your domains at the slightest complain from a large source like Myspace, facebook. Happened to me, they didn't even warn me. Thank god I didn't loose the main domain, just the ones I was using for redirects. My registrar is now overseas, screw the US registrars. They buckle too easily with pressure.

Perhaps you haven't tested the waters with black or grey hat tactics while hosting with them. If your site techniques are completely white hat, then yes.. Godaddy is fine. Its common knowledge in the black hat world that Godaddy has the least tolerance for anything they deem unethical.

How about an example of what you have done would be appropriate.

I noticed now moniker and namecheap have matching price, but namecheap is cheaper if you need privacy which is free there.

Stay clear of Godaddy if you value your domains. They suck bigtime.

I've used Direcnic forever now. No complaints. I would never trust godaddy. Heard too many stories about them from webmasters.

Godaddy is awful..... there are people who recommend them but if you look closely, youll find that those people are generally losers & failures at just about everything they do. There might be the odd exception

Haha you haven't read the stories about Directnic?

I would go with Moniker and stay away from godaddy and directnic.

namecheap is good, although i understand they are a reseller for enom?

i have heard horror stories about godaddy basically holding your domain for ransom if they receive any complaints.

I have about 150 domains at GoDaddy. Not a single problem in several years.

Take note of how those trashing them won't tell you what got themselves into trouble there. It's because they were doing shifty business. Every so often you'll hear about an unfortunate mishap, but that happens everywhere.

Well lets take you as a case study....... are you (a) dumb (b) stupid (c) useless (d) a loser (e) a failure or (f) fucked. If you are any of the above it explains why you use Godaddy. If you're not any of the above then it means you've graduated and will shortly move your domain names away from there.

Moniker rocks and GoDaddy can eat a thick, pus-oozing one. GoDaddy deleted 5 of my domains on nothing but an email complaint that wasn't true and couldn't be proven with no opportunity for me to even challenge it.

Monte, Chris, Bari and the rest of the Moniker team have come through for me several times and are always available when I need them. They've also made a lot of money for me in their domain auctions. Again, Moniker Rocks.

You are clueless. We have 100's of domains hosted there, for years, and have never had a problem. The only complaint I can think of is that they like to call to see how we are doing and they have woken me up.

Agreed! All the spamming, scamming, lying, fake, phoney fucks don't last long. GoDaddy takes out the trash daily. DAILY People that bitch about GoDaddy are usually scamming crooked fucks that simply got caught.

Their (GD) interface has changed several times in the past few years which can be a pain sometimes but it's all for the benefit of domain holders. They keep adding additional security layers and internal crosschecking systems. If you're not smart enough to use the interface you're probably not smart enough to own a domain name anyway.

jeez .... how'd they ever get to be #1 ? I wonder .... ?
Maybe from shutting down the spammers/scammers and bullshit artists.
Face it, adult domain buyers/owners aren't exactly high priority with any Registrar.

I use Moniker on occasion also. And Name.com and DomainSite.com (same-same).

Fairly 'tight ships' all.
