Whats the fucking point in having a front end tour be censored after the fucking warning page?

I've looked around and some sites especially solo girl sites are censored.
TO me thats just fucking insane.

Is there a justifiable reason for it these days?

Not everyone gives away everything in promo content. If you keep promo censored and or not showing the pink bits, then such a tour works even better.

I don't agree with censoring pics. Why not give the potential customer an accurate representation of what they are going to see upon signing up to your site instead of making them guess? I have promo galleries that I (along with my affiliates) promote on a bunch of free sites and once the surfer clicks onto the thumb, it enlarges to a full sized picture that's close to 1600x1200. And sure, I go through alot of bandwidth but the reason why I do this is because I want to give the surfer a taste of EXACTLY what they are going to see once they sign up with the site. And so far, it has been working out very well for me as signups to the site just continue to stream in on a constant flow all throughout the day.

Don't put the surfer in a position of having to guess what they are going to see upon signing up with your site. As a webmaster, you should SHOW them exactly what they are going to get after they crack open their wallet - but just don't show too much. The whole idea is to make them want more - from what they have already seen. Not from what they think they might see.

And censoring pics on a tour page is just utterly retarded if you ask me. If you were to go to a restaurant to order some food and as you were looking down at the the dish on the menu that you wanted to try - what if 30% of picture was censored? Yeah, I know, this is a silly comparison but is it really that different? As a consumer to any type of product and/or service, you want to know EXACTLY what you are going to get with your hard earned dollars before you hand them over. Nothing at all wrong with that.

I understand that webmasters promote their sites the way they see fit and they do what they think will work for them but all I am saying is for me personally, this has always worked very well for my site and I don't think it would work as well as it does if I had censored pics and shit.

Nice analogy, funny how the nicer the restaurant is the less of a chance that they show pictures of food or have plastic versions of dessert items. They use descriptive text to lure you into buying. So instead of showing you what you are getting they use quality text to tease and tantalize your brain and taste buds. If you needed to know EXACTLY what you were getting before you buy you would demand samples first.

I remember back in the day when I used to go to the adult bookstore store. They would have the adult magazines displayed out on the stand and I used to flip through them to see what types of girls, pictures, poses and positions were featured inside of the magazines. I bought quite a few of them based upon the fact that I liked what I saw. How do you not understand basic salesmanship for someone who's been around as long as you have? Solo sites ESPECIALLY should keep the tours as soft as possible. Or rather a step below what the member would get by PAYING...


Examples:

Type of site / Tour
non nude ----->non nude
topless -------> non nude, small topless thumbs
nude ---------> topless or nude with no spreading, small spread thumbs
hardcore -----> short clips, censored pics, small hardcore thumbs


Censored photos are TOTALLY fine as long as the surfer understands what they will see inside a members area. Tours are meant to SELL the product, not give the surfer more chances to jerk off for free. The purpose of a tour is to describe the content inside while teasing/enticing the surfer to purchase. As a designer you should know ALL of this

I think some of the non-nude sites have hurt the business by not being clear in the tour that the members don't get to see complete nudity either.... but a tour should be clear that when you join, the girl takes off her panties and does whatever, etc.... it is a good selling point

I had 2 avs sites a long time ago, (i had more) but these two were exactly the same tour, on dif but very similar domains.

Was a standard movie style tour.

The only difference was on the one I censored all the titties and pussy with a "Censored" or "Members Only" in Photoshop.

Not to mention, most of the heavier traffic and well known paysites do not censor their sample tour page images. I mean, take a look at Reality Kings - ATK Exotics - Milf Hunter - Simons Scans - Abby Winters - among many others. And they also have uncensored promo content too. They don't bother with censoring their tour pages content and I am sure that they still do very well.

I guess it just depends on the type of site that you are running. When it comes to a solo girl site, I guess it's not that bad of an idea to censor a LITTLE on the tour pages but for the most part, you want to show the surfer what he is going to get after signing up with the site. If it were me and I operated a one girl solo site, I would still choose to not censor the content though.

That offer does not seem to offer a failure clause if your tour does worse than the censored variety. Which naturally if it converted less than the non nude tour you still would get a per member rate and guess what he would not want to use your tour in the end. So he would get what?

Damn, why is it all solo girl sites are designed to look an elaborate version of a lightspeed site, or a teen revenue site? I am sooo tired of those canned designs. It seems like they all use the same blue, purple, and pink colors.

Design something that doesn't look like the same old tired crap, and it will convert better period. Pussy, tits, or censored.
