I don't agree with censoring pics. Why not give the potential customer an accurate representation of what they are going to see upon signing up to your site instead of making them guess? I have promo galleries that I (along with my affiliates) promote on a bunch of free sites and once the surfer clicks onto the thumb, it enlarges to a full sized picture that's close to 1600x1200. And sure, I go through alot of bandwidth but the reason why I do this is because I want to give the surfer a taste of EXACTLY what they are going to see once they sign up with the site. And so far, it has been working out very well for me as signups to the site just continue to stream in on a constant flow all throughout the day.
Don't put the surfer in a position of having to guess what they are going to see upon signing up with your site. As a webmaster, you should SHOW them exactly what they are going to get after they crack open their wallet - but just don't show too much. The whole idea is to make them want more - from what they have already seen. Not from what they think they might see.
And censoring pics on a tour page is just utterly retarded if you ask me. If you were to go to a restaurant to order some food and as you were looking down at the the dish on the menu that you wanted to try - what if 30% of picture was censored? Yeah, I know, this is a silly comparison but is it really that different? As a consumer to any type of product and/or service, you want to know EXACTLY what you are going to get with your hard earned dollars before you hand them over. Nothing at all wrong with that.
I understand that webmasters promote their sites the way they see fit and they do what they think will work for them but all I am saying is for me personally, this has always worked very well for my site and I don't think it would work as well as it does if I had censored pics and shit.
