What happened? Did it fall off the face of the earth? No news out of that hellhole for God knows how long. Did they resolve their issues and go back to being completely unimportant?

There are still divisions but it is peaceful and fine to live now, and the republic of ireland is becoming an economic power house, loads of businesses moving there because of the tax breaks they get.
but the truth is...ireland is so fucking boring. |

Ireland has had an explosion of high tech companies over the last few years. House prices are crazy expensive now too...
It went thru a huge boom to say the least. But yet I digress the reason the lord invented whiskey was to keep the Irish from ruiling the world ;) |

yeah, what everyone above said. However, the other side of the story is, N. Irelande gave up fighting the Brits for independence to return to the mother land, cos the mother land sold its soul to the capitalistic devil and so no longer wants to be associated.
Better the devil you know. Such a shame to see *ALL* the Irish fields devoid of cattle. Paying the farmers to not farm so the land could be sold to industry is going to make a soulless country in the long run.
