Serious Q About Northern Ireland?

What happened? Did it fall off the face of the earth? No news out of that hellhole for God knows how long. Did they resolve their issues and go back to being completely unimportant?

Vendot 10-04-2008 09:55 AM

Yeah theyve solved the issues i think............ apparently Belfast is a really nice place to live these days.

they came to a agreement, they dont have anything to fight over.

Dont think i would say they "disbanded" - they just dont need to fight any more. I'ts more a political orientation now, than a regular resistance groupe.

The leprechauns have taken over and are blocking all news channels.

There are still divisions but it is peaceful and fine to live now, and the republic of ireland is becoming an economic power house, loads of businesses moving there because of the tax breaks they get.

but the truth is...ireland is so fucking boring.

farkedup 10-04-2008 12:19 PM

who cares? they still eat too much cabbage and taters

GTS Mark 10-04-2008 02:31 PM

Ireland has had an explosion of high tech companies over the last few years. House prices are crazy expensive now too...

It went thru a huge boom to say the least.

But yet I digress the reason the lord invented whiskey was to keep the Irish from ruiling the world ;)

Steve Awesome 10-04-2008 02:38 PM

God bless Ireland.

CunningStunt 10-04-2008 03:05 PM

They all kissed and made up.

The IRA are now all assembling furniture for $11 ph.

borked 10-04-2008 03:06 PM

yeah, what everyone above said. However, the other side of the story is, N. Irelande gave up fighting the Brits for independence to return to the mother land, cos the mother land sold its soul to the capitalistic devil and so no longer wants to be associated.

Better the devil you know.

Such a shame to see *ALL* the Irish fields devoid of cattle. Paying the farmers to not farm so the land could be sold to industry is going to make a soulless country in the long run.

I was in Cork and Kinsale recently and yeah, they were boring. Sure, lots of night activity, plenty of bars with kids getting rat arsed, but the places had no soul.
Rep Ireland sold its soul for ? for sure :2 cents:

I grew up in Dublin, Lived in London/manchester for eleven years.

Yes I can relate to the changes the last 15 years has brought, some good, some bad, but It's a country that needed to update it's self to the rest of Europe.

Believe it or not, there is even black people living on my moms street now. that was unheard off when I was growing up.

scottybuzz 10-04-2008 05:02 PM

Me and my friend got chased by a black man with a knife and he got mugged when we went to visit ireland.

Never going back.

It was last September :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

There was an immigration centre nearby which explains things.

The Irish themselves were great people and I loved the bakeries and the general hospitality of bar staff.

Yeh I may go again actually, I think too rashly.

andrej_NDC 10-04-2008 06:00 PM

Northern Ireland and Ireland are 2 different countries.
