Dion's english is getting better but overall they spent way too much time trying to tear down Harper instead of telling people what they plan to do. I found the Canadian debate much more interesting, much less scripted.

Seems objective and balanced reporting is bad for business and a thing of the past.
The two seconds that Biden choked up recalling his wife and first child's tragic death, his two sons being in critical condition unsure if they were going to survive, and life as a single father, wasn't a ploy for sympathy. I doubt it would play well for the media to rag on the guy for the 'crying thing'. That was the only genuine moment in the entire debate. Palin gets a free ride on the whole hockey mom antics which is something that is more or less a national embarrasment. She's vying for the second highest office in the country.

2 things come to mind, that is if I were to choose a president based on their choice of vice president.

1. Palin is unable to say nuclear, every time she said it, she said nucular. Though VP is relatively unimportant, that person is close to the nuclear weapons "button", it would be nice if she knew how to say it.

2. Having a texas oil man for 8 years got us 4 dollar gas, he wanted to drill more here, got us into a war that costs 10 billion a month (yeah 10 fuckin billion a month) where gas cost 10 cents a gallon before we got there and now costs upwards of a dollar in iraq. Do I really want to replace texas oil man with Alask Oil woman? I think not.

Um Dick Cheney is behind most of Bush's crap these past 8 years. Do you think Bush is smart enough to have come up with all this shit on his own? Palin says she wants to model her Vice Presidency after Cheney's. That's reason enough not to vote for McCain. The fact is Palin makes me LESS likely to vote for McCain. Last thing I want is another Jesus freak that is ONE 73 year old cancer ridden heartbeat away from running this country.

Biden had lots to say while Palin repeated talking points. He outlined the differences in his position on the war. In McCain's worldview America was going to win in Iraq in a week. In Biden's worldview America would not be greeted as saviors by Iraqis and years of instability would ensue along with billions of dollars. In McCain's worldview, Afghanistan could be virtually ignored. In Biden's worldview, most of our efforts should have been in Afghanistan. He points out that we spend more money in Iraq in three weeks than we have in the entire 6.5 years we've been in Afghanistan (this is the country that is home to the 9/11 terrorists and Bin Laden). He outlined the need to support Democracy in volatile places like Pakistan to avoid further problems.

In Biden's view, repeating the tax plan that was a success in Alaska under Palin, is the approach to take nationally, while McCain's plan is opposite to Palin's own record on taxes but she has to support it. In Biden's view regulation rather than deregulation is key in Wall Street as is alternative energy which McCain's record is sparse on.

Biden was much sharper in the debate. You could feel comfortable with him giving sound advice to Obama and taking the helm if something happened to Obama. There was no similar feeling of worldliness or understanding eminating Palin.

You and your "facts" are so silly. Facts are well known to have a liberal bias. What Palin said "felt" right!

Pa*lin*ism
- noun.
1. A quotation of the spoken word of Sarah Palin, aspirant to the Vice Presidency of the United States of America.
2. The combined use of logical transposition, misconjugation, repetition, and stock phrase insertion when answering a straightforward question.

What I want to argue about is how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts we have got to clean up this planet.
? Sarah Palin, October 2 2008

How long have I been at this? Like, five weeks?
? Sarah Palin, October 2 2008

I'm the mayor, I can do whatever I want until the courts tell me I can't.
-- Sarah Palin, explaining her governing philosophy as Mayor of Wasilla

What is it exactly that the VP does every day?
-- Sarah Palin, August 1 2008

You know there are - there are man?s activities that can be contributed to the issues that we?re dealing with now, these impacts. I?m not going to solely blame all of man?s activities on changes in climate.
-- Sarah Palin, September 29 2008

Alaska is all over the world map right now.
? Sarah Palin, June 8 2008

There?s been so many words, Ed, over the state of Alaska, we being the head and not the tail, and, um, I see things now in the works it seems like, things like, that?s coming to fruition. Things are perculating! Things are coming along, and just, you know, uh, praying for an outpouring of God?s spirit here, that revival to be here in Alaska.
? Sarah Palin, June 8 2008

I?m not looking at poll numbers. What I think Americans at the end of the day are going to be able to go back and look at track records and see who?s more apt to be talking about solutions and wishing for and hoping for solutions for some opportunity to change, and who?s actually done it?
-- Sarah Palin, September 26 2008

There?s something going on in Alaska where, you know, we get calls in our office all the time from national media outlets and international media outlets just wondering what?s going on in Alaska. And I think there?s something going on here with where you all are going as Master?s Commission students and now graduates and what?s going on in the state of Alaska.
? Sarah Palin, June 8 2008

Charles Gibson: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks does the proximity of the state give you?

Sarah Palin: [Pause] They?re our next door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

Charles Gibson: What insight does that give you into what they?re doing in Georgia?

Sarah Palin: Well, I?m giving you that perspective into how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relations with all of these countries, especially Russia.

It was an unfair attack on the verbage Senator McCain chose to use?. that was an unfair attack there, again, based on verbage that John McCain had used.
- Sarah Palin, September 18 2008.

At a Town Hall on September 17, 2008 for which you had to get a ticket from the GOP to get in:

Question: Governor Palin, there?s been quite a bit of discussion about your perceived lack of foreign policy experience. And I give you your chance: if you could please respond to that criticism and give us specific skills that you think you have to bring to the White House to rebut that or mitigate that concern.

Sarah Palin: Well, I think because I?m a Washington outsider that, uh, that opponents are going to be looking for a whole lot of things that they can criticize and they can kinda try to beat the candidate here, who chose me as his partner, to, um, to kind of tear down the ticket. But as for foreign policy, you know, I think that I am prepared and I know that on January 20th if we are so blessed as to be sworn into office as your President and Vice President, certainly we?ll be ready. I?ll be ready. I have that confidence. I have that readiness. And if you want specifics, specific policy or countries, go ahead and you can ask me. You can even play ?Stump the Candidate? if you want to. But we are ready to serve.

It?s very important, when, when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and, and, uh, comes into the airspace of the United States America, where, where do they go? It?s Alaska! It?s just right over the border.
? Sarah Palin, September 25 2008, explaining again why living in Alaska gives her foreign policy experience

Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh ? it?s got to be all about job creation too. Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade, we?ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, um, scary thing, but 1 in 5 jobs being created in the trade sector today. We?ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.
- Sarah Palin, September 24 2008, trying to explain to Katie Couric why giving Wall Street investment companies a 700 billion dollar government handout is a better idea than giving that money to middle class Americans.

Seriously, replace Palen with any other woman candidate, Clinton, Pelosi, Rice, Dole, any other woman politician. Then ask yourself if that would have even been considered a good grade school debate performance.

Being good looking, winking at the camera, and never answering questions does not make a good debate performance. The bar was set so fucking low for this idiot, that everyone is thinking she did well.

She is running for the VP of the united states for christs sakes. She won't have any time to cram talking points if she gets thrown into the presidency.
