You feel that people with tattoos don't get good jobs? or are prejudiced against? If you want one so badly and for all the right reasons, you'd be proud of it.. not showing it when you wanna be 'cool' and hiding it when you want people to think you're..hmmm... non-tattooed..or would that be.. 'normal'?

Maybe I'm being cynical.. or playing devil's advocate.... but when I got the tattoos I had I could care less if someone thinks less or more of me one way or the other.

I understand what you are saying and in a way agree. But, if i get a good 150-200,000 a year paying job at some firm, i think that if they see tattoos all over, i will have much less of a chance of being hired then say someone else who doent have any...

you know what i am saying?

Actually. my tat never hurt.

But whoever it was that mentioned they were addicting, is right.

I have been wanting to get another one soon, just have to find something that means something to me.

Good Luck on Your Search

I say it's bullshit, I have seen some CEO's with visible tats, I know of EVP's and VP's that have complete artwork done EVERYWHERE on their body. It doesn't matter if you have a tat or not, just whether or not you can get the job done.

hey labret, what's up!

I guess you're the perfect guy to ask ... been wanting to get my first tat for the last 3 years or so.... I just need to find exactly what I want, and not regret it ;)

am actually looking forward to the pain hehe...

but here's my question to you.... what should I do if I got the shape I want... I know the text I want surrounding it.... BUT, I just cannot find it anywhere, and I can't draw anything....

This here is the shape I always have been fascinated with...

always been fascinated by that shape before I learned anything about it.... but, I don't wanna put just 6 lines on my skin hehe... wanna find this shape but in a cool design or something, where the rest I have in mind can fit with it....

any clue?

also, I dunno where to put it yet... any suggestions as to where I should put it, or should I say how to find out by myself?

just want my first of many to be good ;)

Any tattoo artist worth a damn, should be able to take your thoughts and put them on paper first. Everytime you have something drawn up, they will ask your approval. Like the guy who did all of mine, he refuses to do any tattoo from flash, he insists on drawing up each one individual. So if you can find a guy like that, you should be golden.

Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

Yeah, a giant pink triangle! That would rule! Maybe get it tattooed on your forehead, and then move to "The City" aka S.F.

No offence, hey that Tat of that guy with 2 earrings and that lop sided tatoo looks really great. It really suits gay people like him, (two earrings means gay right?).

Nah man that tat is what girls always get around there lowerback so when they where low riders and small tops it shows off there tatoo. You dont' want a girly tatoo.

Go for piercings instead of Tatoos, at least when you get sick of them you can take them out. My Bro used to have 6 earrings, eyebrowe ring, nipple ring and tougne stud, now he just has a tounge stud, he said it used to suit him but he grew out of it.

I'd suggest you not get anything unless you've really thought about what its going to look like in 10 years and what you'll be like then. (I know its hard to think that far in front)

All that said, I LOVE george Clounys "Out of sight" Arm tatto. Now that kicks ass and is a hell of a statement.

Other people like yourself might have more meaningful reasons for getting one, and I can respect that.
Maybe we should tattoo a brown starfish on Mr. Bear's nose ???

I got a tribal dragon.... it symbolizes the strugle between good and evil...

It covers bottom of my right arm & I had it made when my popz died!

took 3 hours to do and you can only get this done 2 places worldwide cuz the artist owning the pic only does his own creations and wont let any other copy his work!

the pain is just a part of the package

Thats my ass with the little sting ray and initals Yeah their girly, but I love'em.They have meaning so it's all good.
Kelly's the chest, arm and back in the pics

p.s It hurt like a mf when I got mine and their just tiny. I swear I almost fainted I hate needles but I wanted it done so bad.
I'm thinking of getting one on my ankle but not too sure. Every girl has one there so ...dunno. I think it's kinda sexy though, providing it's not a rose or unicorn
I was thinking getting my kids foot prints (little ones) but not too sure yet.

I thought about my tat for 10 years before I finally got one (about 3 months ago). I designed my own because I wanted something extremely original. Took almost 5 hours to get done.

Does it hurt? Yes...but it's a "rite of passage" sort of pain. I actually liked it

Don't have a pic of it yet, but maybe tonite I'll shoot it and put it up...

And yes...it IS addictive. I've already designed my next one

My hubby also says he enjoys it and it's very addictive..I don't understand it???

I was bent over the tattoo bed and I was almost in tears. I can't handle the grinding
I very much enjoy when it's all done though

Thanks this thread inspired me to get another Tat to my collection.
I am addicted to Maori tattoos called Ta Moko or Kirituhi.

Ta Moko is the cultural tattoo art and each tattoo tells parts of
your life story....your ancestors, tribe, important events, etc, etc
If you consider getting a Ta Moko you should contact a Maori
artist.....give him a shitload of information and they will design
a tattoo specialy made for you.

Never just copy a Ta Moko people they take it as an offense of
their culture and people who can read them will know it's not
yours.

I chose Kirituhi style since this style is similar but not linked to
your genialogy. As I am a white European it won't be considered
an offense to their native culture etc, etc... besided that real
Ta Moko is carved and not electrical applicated this is more easy
to get done.....(unless you fly to New Zealand).

http://www.tamoko.org.nz/ here they have links to Maori artist
and you get request a personal design.....I just ordered a design
by Turumakina Duleyz as soon as I have it I will post pics.
I'm getting a design for my full left arm.....shoulder to elbow and
sleeve.

If you like tribal and want something unique you should check it
out. It's awesome art and a very interesting culture
