I'm still interested in outting the fool who did this tho... fraud is a serious matter and they need to learn a lesson. I think it's up to AVN next year to work with the hotel and see to it that this doesn't happen to anyone else. I think I'm a very very reasonable person but sooner or later someone is going to get dinged for a few hundred who ISN'T reasonable.

Yikes. I just got my final bill from the hotel and lo and behold some poolside charges of over $50 that I never ordered..... Fun!

This has happened to me more then once, and several other people too. I think the hotels should ask for id whenever anyone orders anything! I hope it all works out. I am sorry it happened to you as you are a great guy!

I am so fucking sick of this line. This industry is like a church picnic compared to some. I would also like to add that I accidentally left my fanny pack (sure laugh but it works with a chair) at a party in someones room. Not only did it contain mass amounts of narcotics (legal) but also about 2k in cash, a digital camera, a cell phone, and some other shit. I had it returned to me with nothing missing at all, of if there was anything missing I did not notice as I do not count my aspirin, mints, or toothpicks.

Then why the fuck should people not allow charging shit to their room. It is a convenience that helps out a whole lot, unless you really like going everywhere with your wallet with you - which does not work out to well when the event is mostly poolside. Has fucking nothing with being smart. He already shown he was one of the smart ones by checking his bill which not enough people do before they leave.

Lastly may I ask why you have your trolling turned up to almost an AlienQ level?

At one of my first shows I lost something very important to me... something I needed... the value was around $400. The next day Eric (adult.com) finds me with my item in hand... which someone else gave to him, knowing that it was mine.

Unbelievable.. I had 2 messages at the Diplomat that said "We attempted to deliver the room service you ordered but no one answered the door. Charges for these orders have been billed to your room" - I thought it was bad last year when a few people had stuff stolen, but this year seems like there was lots worse going on

Every time I went to pay a bill I almost whipped out my room card as if it was a credit card. It wouldn't be a half bad idea to swipe room cards when you pay the bill.

Jay, this is the first I've seen this thread...I hope that you find out who this person was! It sucks that this person knew your room #! Asking for room keys is actually a great idea considering our names are printed on them. I'm glad the hotel took care of things for you.

This story sucks- sorry it happened to you.
There are so many reasons why the hotel will never release this footage.
There are civil liberties that would be violated, and privacy laws broken.

Plus- What are they going to show you?
A screen cap of a person you may or may not even know?

Be glad the hotel took care of you- I had a pretty shitty experience with the hotel on my last day there, and they were very accomodating.

It seems that upon my check-in in and staying on the 33rd floor by the Concierge VIP Lounge, they didn't tell me that on Sunday they would be starting renovations to the floor.

So after a long day at the pool in that scorching heat, and two rum floaters extra on my rumrunners- Aaliyah and I wanted to retire to my our room.

We push the elevator buttons and it won't go to our floor at all. We sneak off the elevator on the 32nd floor and take a service elevator to our room to find our room locked and our keys not working.

With a horrible headache and a sick gf all we wanted to do was lay down and take a nap before dinner.

I head all the way back downstairs and they tell me they have to move all of our stuff to another room-

That was the last thing I wanted to do 14 hours before I had to checkout but we had them move us to a newly renovated suite with a plasma tv and killer furniture- we had a great ocean view penthouse and complimentary champagne and chocolate.

They kissed our asses pretty good.

Moral of the story- count your blessings and the hotel will look dope next year that I can guarantee

If you DO find out who the person was who did this- You SHOULD educate the community.
It's a good chance that if they'll steal your identity, they'll steal your traffic or your money

Wow, surprised to see this bumped. Folks, my plight is not that important, really :) But thanks for caring... thanks for all the ICQs... and thanks to the trolls for showing me that I'm significant enough to be on their radar.

Here's an update... save for one person, the hotel has ignored all my calls and I'm sure wants this put to rest as do I. In fact I stopped caring about a week ago. I AM about 90% sure of who did this but doubt I will ever have 100% proof. And unless I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN, I won't be outting anyone. I'm usually correct about my hunches and if it's the person I think it was... they are VERY new to the industry, and I know their boss. They have been alerted by me and and are now keeping their eye on this person and will handle accordingly.

Back to work ;)

In my case it was the Westin that tried to steal.
$10 per minute for local calls.
Second year they tried it so I made sure to check the bill.

I suggest everybody who made phonecalls using the hotelphone checks their bills.

So tell me, what happened with this "drama." Was it more bullshit? Who is this so called person(s) in the industry that ripped you off?

I want to know if they ever contacted you or not to make it right.

Then I want to know if I should give a shit about anything you say for not revealing who was the person behind the situation or if it was a misunderstanding.
