Sales reps - its time you start working on something new
Better start building up something or look for a new job outside the industry soon. You will be needed less and less.

I always wonder why more reps don't have their own traffic network on the side...
How exactly are they supposed to help affiliates without any hands on experience? |

Smart reps have their own traffic AND directly benefit from being able to learn about how good affiliates make sales...

Do you know an existing multi Brand Sales Rep?
I keep wondering why sales reps seems to be "monobranded" (pimped) |

Sales reps will always be needed. Especially for handling webmaster related support/issues and office work which pertains to the business.

multi-task sales reps will always be needed...
those that can handle sales, support, backend shit, affiliate stuff, traffic management, etc. those used to be 2-3-4 separate people, now they have to be melded into one...

That's a catch-22 though. If they had the knowledge to make their sites a success they wouldn't need to be an affiliate rep. Unfortunately, no program would ever pay what someone who knows their shit would demand for their expertise.

Some have helped me, usually that is just with content and site access etc. I'm not in that state that I have to ask an affiliate rep how to market their stuff, unless he is well-known for being good at SEO or something.

What is it that you guys need help with anyway? I've always figured WE as affiliates are supposed to already know how to market and work our own traffic. The only thing I need from a program is somebody to give me anything special I may need...which is rare. I'm not sure what you guys are exactly expecting from a programs affiliate rep.
They already have a webmaster area, hosted everything, and basically hold your hand. Back the clock up to the "good old days" that you hear everybody talking about...say late 1990's. They gave you NOTHING. We had to buy content. Build galleries. Host them ourselves and drive traffic too. Oh yeah...they gave us banners. I'm just wondering what the complaint now is. And what more do you want from an affiliate rep. And if you happen to be one of our affiliates at SOLO SLUT CASH what more you might need from us. |

Oh yeah...we used to have to buy content discs and make galleries. And I'd make up some wild bullshit about what the girl did in the site. And of course, the girl wasn't even IN that site! LOL!
Later on, Max Cash started SELLING content to their affiliates. I still have one of those old discs. But yeah, it was pretty much everybody buying the cheapest old content you could find. Then shuffling through thousands of pics to make a "teen" gallery or an "amateur" gallery. Fortunately it didn't really matter if you made a sale back then. The members areas were just an afterthought and the entire business ran on the three or four big companies at the time selling traffic to each other through the 50 million pop ups that they had on their sites. You sent some traffic to a Max Cash site and there would be a popup with 100 ARS sites on it! LOL! So they basically would just say "oh you made 650 sales this month at $40 per sale" Even though you probably didn't make any ![]() The good old days... |

I think the only time I contact reps is when I need a password reset or site access or some other thing like that. I almost never ask for sales help because the response is usually pretty worthless.
Not saying all, but most. A few programs I've worked with the sales rep has his own network on the side and you can spot those guys pretty quick after just a quick conversation. But you could say the same about Google. Their adsense reps don't seem too eager to give up the goods on tricks and techniques. But maybe I'm just too small for them care.

HA...I got a great laugh from this one, sweetie!!! ;) but yeah... content info., access passes, and a bit of damage control are definitely part of what i do. im kind of like the secretary/customer service chick at the front of the office that keeps everything organized, knows all of the ins and outs about whats going on on a daily basis, makes sure that any and all loose ends are tied up and taken care of, keeps up with contacts, and filters out all of the bullshit. my name is carly...i'm the affiliate rep for xoxocash.com...feel free to contact me any time at [email protected] if you think i could possibly be of any use to you and make things run just a little bit smoother than anything else that you've had the pleasure of dealing with during your hectic day |

You know what I haven't figured out? Why don't most people (owners/reps/whoever) touch base with affiliates that send traffic? It's not that hard to figure out where your sales are coming from especially with so many programs using nats. It's not tough to say If an affiliate sends you 20-30 sales in a month and then backs off, you should be asking why. As an affiliate manager, that's your job.
I think that's where Metal Cash really steps up to the plate. They've messaged me to ask when, why, how, and so on. That's what I call true professionalism.
