Plant you butt in a chair in the lobby in the traffic path to the pool during the late afternoons. Over the course of an hour, you get to meet and greet a lot of the people you know and can set up meetings with them (indoors, of course!)......

I've met/bonded with quite a few people who I ended up doing major business with while drinking with them and getting to know them at 5-7am. I agree you might not get much business done at 2am when the party is still raging or the suite is full of retards breaking stuff, but once it starts to filter out there is potential business ahead. Not everyone forgets what they said while intoxicated :)

As an owner, one thing I have always said about Derek is that I'm confident in his abilities at trade shows. He knows how to work the floor, the pool, the lobby areas and that I don't have to worry if he's misrepresenting himself or WCC. He knows how to get business done.

For those taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel, in going the intracoastal route (as opposed to going down 95 south), the taxi meter was $23.
